Or maybe Bill values players much differently than many here?

Nobody sane is going to hire me to evaluate football talent, but I thought he was exceptional cutting and getting open, and stronger than the smurf set. Of course all the praise and stuff in camp doesn't mean much, but he seemed to be working hard and as in synch with Brady as anyone not named Edelman.

Considering how our receivers are lighting it up:rolleyes:, it's just a surprise. I don't like to speculate, but it seems kind of quizzical, so let's speculate. The kid's got a bad history we assumed he overcame, so it just makes me wonder.

Again, if I'm clueless on talent it wouldn't be the first time.

The whole thing makes more sense when you see that:
-McDaniels is horrible, sucks at talent evaluation, is stubborn, and ran the worst offenses in the league in St Louis and Denver.
-Belichick is old and making less and less decisions every week.

Mostly just concerned now that it comes the day before the game and perhaps reflects poorly on the week of offensive preparation...

Eric decker and demaryius Thomas are pretty good aren't they? McDaniel evaluated and drafted them

They did nothing with McDaniels there. John Fox salvaged their careers. Plus those were 2 of 30+ McDaniels moves and picks which turned the Broncos from a playoff team to losing 15+ straight games. Then he left Denver in shambles to turn the Rams offense into the WORST offense in the entire league. It's always excuses with McDaniels and never his fault. Fanbases in Denver AND St Louis hate the guy and are glad they got rid of him.

Prior to leaving NE McDaniels is also the reason for the bust Maroney, Chad Jackson, and O'Connell picks. Stubborn and being a bad talent evaluator are a bad combination...

I would feel much better if your second point were true. But I don't buy it at all.

Doesn't negate the fact that mcdaniels drafted 2 very good to great receivers bye drafted them and look at what they are. You can't take that away from MCD, you just can't.

Last time i checked, Manning got to the superbowl using mostly talent on offense that McDaniels drafted(pro bowl receiver Thomas, Decker, probowl guard beadles) three players we would probably love to have right about now knowshon moreno(a running back that has consistently murdered the patriots).

Josh has made some mistakes, but he had more hits then misses as the person directly in charge of picking talent.

Sometimes I just don't know what this team is doing. I guess I'll just wait and see but on the surface this is a bummer.

Ok. If you want to be fair let's include those 2 in his favor.

That doesn't negate the LONG history of tons of personnel blunders. The link below only summarizes Broncos mistakes but he made multiple major draft mistakes while in NE (Maroney, CJackson, O'Connell), then destroyed St Louis, and now doing it in NE.

Not suprising with all of his drops. Dobson now has his chance on Sunday. Lets hope takes advantage of it or he will be gone as well.

I have been drinking heavily all day watching CFB. Just heard the news. KT cut over Dola. F this man, f's this ish..

FWIW I don't feel as if this was a decision between Dobson/KT. Dobson was the 2nd round draft pick last year and is expected to become a big part of the offense in the (hopefully) near future. This was more between LaFell/KT as they play a similar role on offense. I guess LaFell's use on special teams and performance against KC is what made the decision clear.

I hope KT catches on somewhere though. He played well here and seemed to have a connection with Brady in the passing game. Will never forget the Saints game last year.

Or the imfamous fifteen-twenty yard "back shoulder" td in the second or third preseason game...

Also, saw they activated LB Ja Gared Davis and worked out several OLB's. Guessing I'm not the only one that came to the conclusion that Jamie Collins is absolutely horrible.

Or he's been hurt and is far too light to play through a leg injury (reference the charles short yardage td where he went low like he isn't fiftyish percent heavier, plus the celebration...fail), but yeah, he just sucks...lol

Wait, just catching up right now. Browner is not playing tomorrow night either?

He's been on the injured list. Both he and Hightower got dinged up last week.
Collins was inactive week two and very limited week three. He has been dinged up. A "leg," for an undersized, coverage, speed LB would be understandably debilitating...

And their roster exception expires on Monday at 4pm, so a hard decision to activate or cut is required by then.

I expect whatever happens in the game tomorrow night will be an influence on the decision for those two.

So wet aren't going to play Browner? If dennard is out/limited and we are playing the same sorry @$$ off zone we have all hated for years (and ridiculed tb for using Revis in last year...), my wife may just throw me out for launching the bourbon through the flat screen...

I hope the rumors are true that Chip Kelly eventually wants to take over the Patriots. When Belichick decides to retire, I really hope we're not left with one of his former Yes men.

I'll rip McDaniels as much as the next guy but let's get a few things straight.

Denver was middle of the pack in 2009 an 2010 in yards and points
Thomas, Decker, Beadles, and Moreno were his picks

How do we know he didn't rate Keenan Allen higher than Dobson? Who knows maybe if it was up to him he would have went Allen at #52 and Wheaton at #59.

Maybe if it was up him the first 3 picks in 2014 draft would have been
#29 Joel Bitonio
#62 Gabe Jackson
#105 Bryan Stork

Ya he has input but everything is BB's decision and BB's decision with the first two picks instead of trying to rebuild an OL that was bad the year before he decides to draft a DT coming off a 2nd torn ACL and a QB.
