Playoff Seeding Implications

I wouldn't worry about playoff seeding. With the talent we have we'll be lucky to even qualify for the playoffs. This team is a mediocre team at best right now.

Oh holy hell I just realized something. When I entertain optimistic thoughts it's "Hey maybe we're a trap game."

Okay Tom... bust out like Eddie Lacy. Make it be a momentary sulking fit easily fixed by a garbage-time benching. Hey Amendola suddenly be unexpectedly open all the time. Who's that other Kembrell Thompson guy right Aaron Dobson... become suddenly very good. Defense earn your damn keep, you're better than last Monday, and offensive line, don't make me put a goddam packet of jello in the gatorade, congeal already.

Judal effing priest what do I pay you guys for? :)

I don't think it's "silly" by any means. A bit fantastical? Maybe, but the point was to show the major swing that tomorrow's game would have on the seeding.

My problem is that I really don't want to think about playoff seedings. Realistically, I have seen nothing to suggest that the Pats won't get blown out again tomorrow. This team is playing really bad football right now. So, it's not a happy place to think about playoff seeding implications of tomorrow's game.

I honestly am not sure this team can make the playoffs. The other three teams in the division all have pretty good defenses. Fortunately, the other teams in the division have serious flaws.

At this point, I think we may want to talk more about our top 10 pick in next years draft - or more specifically the 2nd rounders from Rutgers that we will trade it away for...

Miguel, in the future, before posting something--no matter how useful or relevant and no matter if it's a subject that hadn't yet been discussed--please, i beg you to consider whether or not hwc wants to think about it.

I fully understand your reasoning and share some of your same concerns (obviously).

Until we've proven that there's no coming back from 2014, playoffs are still likely going to be in the backs of posters/fans minds. I certainly don't think we're anywhere close to that happening quite yet.

Huge win and keeps the Patriots realistic hopes for a bye-week very much alive.

Right now, there are only three teams in the AFC with a better record than the Patriots, all having one loss.
Two of them are in the same division (Chargers & Broncos) and are still on our schedule, while the other one we just beat (Cincinnati).

If this team can live up to what a lot of thought they could be in the pre-season, the #1 seed is still very much in play.
