If the Patriots lose Sunday night, they will be 2-3 and the best record they could hope for is 13-3. If the Patriots lose, the Bengals would be 4-0 and would in effect have a 4 game lead on the Patriots in playoff since they would own the head to head tiebreaker.

A Patriots victory would put the Patriots one loss behind the Bengals in the loss but with the head to head tiebreaker advantage.

A four game lead is massive, especially with only 12 games left to be played. On top of that, four of those 12 games include Denver at home, at San Diego, at Green Bay, and at Indianapolis. Not an easy schedule at all let me tell you.

cincy is only given up 11 per game if the pats win it will have to be with the defense getting turnovers and revis is going to have to stop A.J Green on his own or the pats got no shot

dumb thread but i'll play along.:)

..if we lose, good bye to a first round bye.

This thread is literally depressing.
I hope we win.

i don;t expect a bye this year at all..i just want a home game...the rest is gravy

Lol... I thjnk we should focus on getting some wins.. The bye is clearly not an option this year

How about focusing on the more basic things like tackling and getting first downs...and then touchdowns

I agree with Jim Mora. Are you kidding me? The Pats should be focusing on just trying to win a game.

The TEAM always focuses on winning this week's game, and does not look ahead.

It is certainly reasonable for FANS to look ahead and speculate about the future.

After the Monday Night beatdown, I'm gonna' roll with the team approach until further notice lol

Ha. I was just trying to be diplomatic and avoid "you guys" type comments. What I was really thinking was, "Are you kidding me? Haven't you guys seen the way this team has been playing. They stink...." :)

Personally, I see absolutely no indication that the Patriots offense can play a competitive NFL caliber game. I think they will continue to struggle to score their average 16 points, which means they must rely on defense and special teams to win games. Talking about playoff seeding right now seems silly. If anything, the offense is going backwards. The starting QB only scored 7 points against KC. As I have been reminded, the TD the backup QB scored in garbage time doesn't count. Scoring 7 points isn't going to win many NFL games.

Can they turn it around? Sure. I hope they do. But, I would like to see the slightest evidence of that before I start worrying about the playoffs. I don't expect a turnaround tomorrow night.

Wow! It took me only a minute to post this "silly" topic and it has been decided by others that I wasted my time. This is an open forum. Will continue to post silly topics as long as others are allowed to post that they are silly[emoji6]

Silly topics are fine! So are silly responses! :)

I would imagine that they are having similar conversations in areas/forums such as Green Bay, New Orleans, Indy, and Kansas City etc-- who all entered the week at 2-2 just the same as New England.

I don't think it's "silly" by any means. A bit fantastical? Maybe, but the point was to show the major swing that tomorrow's game would have on the seeding.
