I don't think I've ever seen Patriot fans this divided before on so many things at such an extreme level.

Shoulda been around when Drew Bledsoe was replaced by Brady. Media pundits were literally cursing at Belichick to his face in the press conferences.

6dbs on 1 guy......that means someone else is open and getting a touchdown
Everyone was blocking and they play was called for 1 WR. Same in the minnesota game-edelman's big catch. Only one WR was running the route ,rest were blocking. They hit it then but the chiefs were playing back and it didnt work. Wont work in most times.

Everyone is talented until they join the pats. Then they cant grasp the system.

Brandon Lloyd failed to grasp on his way to a 1000 yard season

I think that by the time you get through what Brady wants and what Mdaniel wants, most are just screwed

Lloyd had extensive experience with McDaniels prior to coming to the Pats and McDaniels ran a similar system in Denver and St. Louis.

It's Tyms time. We have nothing to lose. At this point nobody , not name Edelman, is lighting up the world. It cant get much worst than monday night. He seems to have the right attitude. Things are a mess, lets throw caution to the wind.
You may be right. We only know that they kept him around long enough to defer making a decision on him until now. They do have something to lose though, namely a roster spot. I have said I think it more likely he is released and signed to the PS. If they decide he is worth a roster spot, however, someone has to go. My first guess would be someome with PS eligibility such as Devey. I would not be surprised, however, if they release Amendola. They would have to eat some cash, but if they have decided he cannot help the team it is time to move on.

Just because a play doesn't work doesn't mean its a bad call (also vice versa).

And, even if works, you can't keep calling it in the same situation every time or it won't work. It's hard as fans to grasp how much NFL play callers are setting up complementary plays to be run later. Or, in the case of a draw play on 3rd and long, just trying to get the offense off the field without a strip sack or an ambulanc for the QB - live to punt and try again on another series.

They will never find out what Dobson can do if he is not on the field. To be honest I'm getting sick of this Brady does not trust this receiver. Throw the ball to the open man and lets get this dam offense moving

But he was a 1000 yard bust

Now we have 2 who had 1000 yards between them who can't get on the field.....

So what is Thompkins' transgression?

As far as the poster asking for a link for the Justin Hunter trade possibility even existing.
Whistenhunt was asked about a supposed straight up trade for Crowell and Whistenhunts response was along the lines if we traded Hunter for another running back then some people would get fired.
Said he was definitely disappointed in Hunters play didn't shoot down the possibility of a trade just said it wouldn't be for a running back and no conversations with the Brown's had occured.
Which if he is disappointed with a talented but unproductive receiver he basically threw it out there that it would have to be a valuable trade without saying those words.

A vet like Admendola to work the slot for a Whistenhunt offense and valuable draft commodity could be enticing to them.
I digress that another young receiver to learn a offense in New England when he can't thrive in a pro offense under Whistenhunt doesn't sound like something that the Patriots would take a gamble on if they busted out and ended up with another Stephen Hill or Josh Boyce like production.

I was against Lloyd getting cut. Never said he was a bust. I am just saying why he picked up the system quickly.

The rumor is that the Titans may look to part with Justin Hunter but not for a conditional pick but a mid round pick and Admendola? Might get it done.
I don't know about why he is struggling with the Titans but I know he is ridiculously talented.
His ceiling is Jeremy Macklin his floor is Chad Jackson.
I'd be willing to ship Danny A and a fourth to find out.

If Justin Hunter was ridiculously talented he would be setting the world on fire in Tennessee...I would pass. Justin Hunter = Cordarrelle Patterson 2.0 no thanks!

Wait a second, two weeks ago people were complaining that the Pats blew it by not drafting the most dangerous man with the football - Cordarrelle Patterson. Now he is used as a comparison as a bad player.

Considering fleming didnt practice last 2 days, I doubt devey gets sent to practice squad.

I wasn't going that way....my perspective is more from the team having some pretty dumb ways of fielding the best team.....I think the worst example of that to date was benching TBC, moving vrabel outside and putting Eric Alexander on Dallas Clark .... This team seems at times to adhere to minutae for principle over actually winning the game.....I get it in jr high sports but not here

The scheme isnt simple like say manning runs. Lot of option routes ,lot of adjustments on the fly. You can debate the scheme being too complicated. When this offense works, you see WRs running wide open. I havent seen many in the first 4 weeks, be it because of OL or lack of sync .

Speculating on trades is almost worthless but playing along, I would definitely be interested in Hunter at the right price.

I forget who it was but shortly before the 2013 draft someone tweeted "info" that the Patriots liked Hunter and Woods; and that Dobson was the fallback. Guess what ? We actually took one so the info could have been solid although things may well have changed.

Could Hunter contribute quickly ? That's always a guessing game but Hunter has great upside even if we had to wait for next year but if we got him if we could survive until the bye and he helped after that he would have 6 weeks or so. Second worst case he is big and can threaten deep; worst case he'd have a head start into next year.

I would trade the TB #4 and any WR on the roster not named Edelman for him.

What WR has come here, failed, and succeeded elsewhere? Lloyd decided he'd rather be a rapper for a year. Ochocinco is done. Galloway was done. Chad Jackson, Bethel Johnson, Brandon Tate, Doug Gabriel, Reche Caldwell, Sam Aiken, Taylor Price...have these guys lit up the world since leaving?

We haven't invested that highly in WRs. And our most recent big investment has been a dud (Amendola).

How about Admendola and Vareen straight up who is a free agent next year and White is definitely in the plans.
Just throwing stuff to a wall we made moves in the past such as this all of them haven't worked out see Doug Gabriel for instance but if we can't get Tyms Dobson or Thompkins to get separation why not.

I can think of one currently Holmes in Oakland was a receiver I was always intrigued in and now it seems we pulled the plug to early on that experiment.
