A positive: Pats QB best QB Rating in the NFL!

This Pats fan wants the best QB the Pats can put on the field, and if somewhere DOWN THE ROAD that means that Brady is out then that's how it should be. Just as it was when Bledsoe was replaced by Brady. The idea that the Pats should let Brady lead this team for as long as he wants no matter what his level of play may be is simply wrong.

If Tom Brady leaves I wish all of those well who leave with him.

Newsflash: This disaster is Bill Belichick's fault, along with his Yes-men, NOT Tom Brady's.

I don't think anyone is saying that Brady is totally at fault or needs to be replaced, but he clearly isn't playing as well as we've come to expect. If I had any complaint about Brady it's the way he's been moping around out there. That doesn't help at all.

Sheesh. What's with all the Belichick hate up in here? :)

There is absolutely no complaint anyone could have about Brady that is even worth mentioning considering how Belichick and his coordinators have torpedoed this team so far this season.

Complaining about Brady right now is ridiculous considering everything else that is happening TO and on this football team.

We talk about being a spoiled fan base after losing a game because we're so used to winning blow outs.

That applies triple to bombing on Brady this year after being too used to him carrying a team full of JAG's to play off games and Superbowls they otherwise would never see. If this continues, the only thing standing between the Dolphins taking the AFC East will be the very man everyone suddenly wants to attack.

The biggest mistake BB ever made was to spend more on the offense than the defense

My concern, having followed the NFL for a long time, is that the Pats don't torpedo their franchise for decades the way the Dolphins did hoping for lightning to strike again with an aging Dan Marino. I remember their fans so well: he'll take us to the SuperBowl if only we'd surround him with a better o-line, better receivers, better RBs, a better defense, and better coaching.

It's tricky business, but the reality is that NFL QBs are not usually improving in their late 30s.

Be that as it may, whether Garopollo gets a shot at starting sooner, later, or somewhere in between, it's a big positive for the Pats that he looked good when he got an opportunity to play Monday night. I have been very impressed with his decisiveness and how quickly he gets the ball out. Reminds me of a young Tom Brady in 2001.

This Garopollo love is getting obnoxious, he threw a pass behind the line of scrimmage that LaFell ran for 37 yards, and tossed a 5-yard pass to Gronkowski who carried 3 KC defenders into the end zone. Garopollo’s performance is a great example of correlation and not causation.

He has shown some promise in the preseason and at the end of that game but the hype is absurd right now.
Actually the Brady worship is getting obnoxious, too. I'm perfectly fine with fans deciding they're actually fans of Brady and not Belichick, and following him to Texas or wherever he ends up if he doesn't retire before it's too late.

But don't act like we should all agree.

I've loved and followed this team since the days of Parilli, Antwine, Neighbors and Nance. I used to bicycle to their training camp when I was a kid. It's never been just about Brady for me. Nor has it been about Belichick. It's always been The Patriots, the only team I've loved in the only sport I truly love.

But I've loved many Patriots, even some Patriot quarterbacks. I miss Steve Grogan. I'm still angry about 76 -- maybe the greatest Patriot team ever -- and sad about how it ended in 85 for he and Hannah. The Patriots have a long history and hopefully a long future.

Believe me, I appreciate what Brady -- and Belichick! -- have done for this franchise for the last 15 years. But I know Brady won't be here 3 to 5 years from now. I sure hope Belichick and Garopollo still are. So I *hope* the problem is with Brady and not with Belichick, and I *hope* Garopollo is an answer. I *fear* that the problem might be that Belichick has lost it, or that Garopollo will fail. But they're the hope for the future of franchise. Brady is about a glorious past and -- maybe -- a competitive present.

Brady may have been the GOAT, but the Brady we have now may no longer even be great. It'll be increasingly painful for all of us to watch him fail to live up to GOAT expectations as his skills fade before our eyes.

John Hannah -- my personal GOAT -- retired when he was still great. For your sake, I hope Brady still can.
