Run D has been a problem

I re-watched this game this morning and I noticed one thing I missed that night. Later in the game they went into a four down linemen look at times and KC really didn't do much on the ground when they did. I think this is fixable especially if Siliga gets back in.

Re watched that mess? How many beers did you need?

Of course it is fact. I still remember when the Pats needed a stop in the AFCCG and Collins was lit up by Julius Thomas for a 30 yard gain.

As for the KC game, the point is, if Collins is so phenomenal in coverage, why didn't they trust him to cover Kelce? Because he is not that phenomenal. He had a good game once and he was anointed. Since then he's been invisible, can't shed tackles, can't stop the run, can't cover Kelce.

I'll add "doesn't get to the QB" to the list.

They played a lot of zone in the first half. No one was assigned to anyone. If Kelce ran in Collins' zone, it was his responsibility to cover him. If not, it was someone else's.

I am not saying Collins is phenomenal in coverage, but they are not going to have him man up on Kelce when everyone else is playing zone.

Bedard just said that Collins is miscast and should be a SLB covering TEs down the field and they are not doing that. So there goes the "Kelce burnt Collins all night" argument.

It just underscores our questions about the roles the coaches are asking players to take. Keep in mind that players have more than one job. If Collins is SLB he still has to hold up against the run. Guys like Collins, Easley, Jones are smaller, faster guys, but they are playing with other guys with different skill sets. Gotta make it all work together.

Because he's a liability against the run
