Curran:Patriots have deep-seated, and vexing, problems

For me, it is NOT the defense that I worry about, other than the possibility of injuries. The defense was a top 10 defense with Siliga, Chris Jones and Vellano as our DT's.

Not against the run, they weren't...that's for sure. I can't even believe that you'd bring up Joe Vellano in the sense that he is helping our cause.

The lack of quality DL players is once again a problem. We never solved the DE problem, and now the lack of talent and depth at the position is hurting them again.

For the second time in four games, they had the ball pounded down their throats at will in embarrassing fashion. They've gotten pushed around at will, haven't been able to tackle, and have gotten practically zero pressure at the LOS.

Don't kill me, but let's send Brady to Raiders for two #1 rd picks. He will torch Denver twice a year while we still own our division with the backup QB :p

You won't get even a single second round pick for Brady at his age. Maybe a third that could become a second if he makes playoffs/superbowl.

I disagree. There are plenty of GMs/Owners under pressure to quickly change the fortunes of their teams and boost the gate. The Denver revival with Manning is proof enough how one marquis QB can alter the landscape dramatically. A first rounder for 3 years of Brady vs drafting a roll of the dice QB instead? For some teams....a no brainer.

Curran is right...""The offense has rotted around Tom Brady. Hernandez, unreplaced. Danny Woodhead, unreplaced. LaGarrette Blount, unreplaced. Welker, replaced but the guy they took to replace him has been a waste. "
In just a couple years...
TE grouping is worse....obvious reasons why
RB grouping is worse...IMO Woodhead was money on 3rd down > Vereen. And the big back deployment this year is an afterthought
WR grouping is worse....I despised Lloyd...but the Welker/Lloyd combo > than what BB is willing to field so far
And the OL........enough said
ROTTED

Denver was already stacked. I would say right now, Houston is the team that could go from average to elite if they landed a top 10 QB. Rams would be another team, thought not as good as the Texans would be.

But anyway, why the heck are we even talking about this? lolololol

Lets just blame it all on Giselle and get the Brady is old thing over with already

I respectfully disagree.

A couple of weeks ago (maybe even one week ago) many here would have considered Tom Brady one of the top QB's in the entire game. Now you're trying to say that we wouldn't even get a 2nd round pick for him? That's really pushing it....it's been one bad game--actually one bad second half of one game.

Not only do I think that there'd be at least 6-8 teams who would love the option to select Tom Brady with a first round pick, I think they'd be willing to give up a mid-rounder as well.

This is all true. However, us being willing to trade a HoF QB carries a certain implication that will for sure diminish his price. Additionally, we are already in the regular season so if he arrives somewhere else he won't be able to just continue on in his system. So even if we trade him now it would most probably be a lost year to the other team. Realistically, he might have another 1-2 seasons in him.

The main difference to the Peyton Manning situation was the timing and the price. The Broncos had an entire offseason to build a framework around him plus they didn't have to give up any pick. Ultimately, it was low risk.

Wilfork - 1st Round 2004
Jones - 1st Round 2012
Easley - 1st Round 2014

Tommy Kelly wanted out, Bill Belichick obliged.
