Whilst i really appreciate the national media finally giving coverage on just how hard it is for Tom to be successful right now i just want to know why they've all of a sudden jumped on it when most Patriot fans have known this for YEARS.

The guy was taking multiple paycuts so they could go and get rid of Welker and bring in Amendola and then cut Mankins literally as were about to kick off the season.

I know i have been personally screaming since the whole Hernandez saga went down for the front office to replace the PRODUCTION that an elite player like Hernandez gave us and they did nothing but sit on their backsides and let Tom do it all when there are deep threat guys in situations around the league that are crying out to work with an elite QB i.e. Fitzgerald, Vincent Jackson etc.

So OK let's just say the money wasn't there (even though Brady taking pay cuts proves it is there), they don't even try to address the issue in the draft and instead make head scratching after head scratching picks instead of giving the main man in the whole organisation some tools to be succesful. Could you imagine just how CRAP this offense would be if Edelman didn't turn out to be a diamond in the rough?? It's scary to even think about Tom only being able to trust a hobbled Gronk.

Now i'm sure the really inconsistent gameplanning and play calling of Josh McDaniels is partly to blame but there is just no way around it, Tom does not have help being protected and a below average receiving corps.

I get very annoyed and frustrated tuning in to other games when the Pats are not on and i see the likes of Manning and Rivers not even hit the dirt for 60 minutes yet we have to endure watching the OAKLAND RAIDERS tee off on Brady all afternoon.

This organisation has let down the greatest player it's ever seen and it's not right because the guy has never ever once publicly criticised any of the hierarchy, i just want Tom to one day not bite his tongue and let them have it because in all honesty, they deserve it.

The "Brady takes paycut" thing has been way overblown. He's signed very rich contracts, but has been willing to move money around within the contract to help the cap number. He hasn't left much if any money on the table, especially with his most recent contract.

Does the truth hurt?
What Truth? The team predictably lost a game on the road to a good opponent.

You just want to play drama queen as you tell us who should have been drafted in the the last three years, I note that many of your Monday Morning recommendation have turned out to be now Jailbirds, or PED-ophiles, or outright Busts.

Truth is somewhere in between
  • systematically picking value players instead of need players in the draft
  • trading crucial pieces a week before season start
  • playing a number game instead of retaining talent
AND
  • just lost a road game to a good opponent.
seriously why are they wasting Brady's talent like this ? I'm in no way an subject matter expert or a football genius but its obvious that Brady can do wonders when you surround him with talent and the corollary is also true, that he sucks when there is no talent around him. Steve Young nailed it when he said, they left him completely naked.

No it doesn't take a national football game to realize that people who have complaining about the Pats being cheap and it will come back and bite them since the Pats traded away Seymour in 2009 would come out of the woodwork in a game in 2014 where the Pats were embarrassed to say "See I told you so".

Cuz, I like think that Brady like sucks but he like needs better receivers cuz like he like has no like time cuz like the OL like sucks cuz like the receivers like stink cuz like there's no like talent like there like at all...

Plenty of people realized through several years now that an O-line that started to show chinks in its armor in 2007 has continued to get weaker and weaker without being adequately addressed. Couple that with the fact that the team's greatest strength is Brady with a clean pocket, the real question is why the supposed smartest guy in the room (BB) neglected it to the point that it is single-handedly destroying any chance this team has this year.

I don't care if TV presenters didn't realize it, but it is unfortunate that the guy who runs our team didn't realize it. And well.... it(our offense) is what it is.

Wait until next week if they lose to Cincy.

The homers will either be right there with everyone else or they will abandon ship. As I keep saying, once the ship sinks, the homers will be the first to evacuate. I could fire off a few names around here that are conspicuous by their absence.

This should be an interesting game, though. If the defensive coaching staff can pull their heads out of their asses and use their personnel correctly (and not the way Schiano used his last year... which was possibly the most ******ed thing I've ever seen), we could shut down the Bengals through the air and load that box to stop the run. But, again, this would mean that the defensive coaches, BB included, stop trying to force square pegs into round holes.

A National TV beat down realize the obvious? Those of us that watched all 4 games this season were on the same page before game 4. We will improve but can we do it fast enough? The coaches, offensive line, the WRs and Brady all share equally in this problem. So they all improve we win game 5, do the same as game 4 we lose.

Improve?? The question is how much can they. Its more than just mistakes and schemes. Its physical domination at the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball. Its not having up to date playmakers and no pressure on opposing QBs. Both networks are saying this is who the patriots are and they just aren't very good. Revis has been a good cornerback but not the all pro he was. There's no real impact game changers. Schemes can't fix that. They can play better fundamentally and mistake free. Question is how far can that take them. There is potential to start 2-4.

Wait until next week if they lose to Cincy.

I like coming here and talking football...but this is even almost driving me away from the forum for a while

The real question we should be asking ourselves is if we're worse off than the Jets?
God help us if we get steam rolled by them, this board will be in chaos.

And on the flip side, there's an entire cohort of posters gracing us whom we never see unless the Pats are struggling, as they are now.
