Welcome Brandon Browner

We want Revis free. I think that the issue is that Patricia just doesn't trust Ryan in man coverage. I would expect a different defense when Dennard is healthy. I think that Patricia would trust Revis, Dennard and Arrington. Perhaps, he will trust Revis, Browner and Arrington.

You have a vastly different defensive backfield if Ryan isn't expected to your #2 corner. With everyone healthy, he might not even be a dime back. After all the top 4 corners would be Revis, Dennard, Browner and Arrington. Ryan wouldn't get many reps, like Butler now.

Will be sporting his Jersey Sunday night at the game. Maybe he can inject some toughness into this team

I hope Browner isn't too rusty in his first official outing with the Pats. I wouldn't be surprised if he shares snaps with whomever gets the start at CB 2.

Hoping to see Revis and Browner on the line making it tough for these WRs all Sunday night

Then how do you explain his usage in week one vs Miami when Dennard was the CB2?

You are seriously saying this just one week after Kyle Arrington barely played and had his snaps reduced dramatically?

I would imagine the reps to be dished out on a weekly gameplanning basis, which has been our difference of opinion all summer long when we had this discussion. In other words, I do not see a "set" lineup the same way that you do. Different weeks are going to warrant different matchups and different subpackages that (hopefully) utilize the strengths of the players in their matchups.

To take it one step further, I seriously doubt that we will be totally healthy at the position, so it's not likely to matter. As previously noted, Ryan saw about 1/2 of the snaps last season, so I would expect something in the same range, give or take 5-10 percent.

I'm assuming that Browner will be far from total game shape, so I would assume something like what you're describing for at least the first 3-4 games, where his snaps are gradually increased.

So who gets cut in place of Browner? Malcolm Butler?

Never understood how the words; "swagger", "attitude" or "toughness" are quantified.

Revis is a press coverage player. People here mocked the Bucs for having him play off coverage and zone last year.

Well, BB has him playing off coverage and zone this year.

So those "people here" were right then and they are right now.

If we had Browner I bet that rookie TE wouldn't have scorched us like he did. Perfect guy for those TEs.

But BB is using revis the wrong way...so he could very well use Browner in the wrong way. 10 yards off LOS and covering a slot WR.

Patricia will want to put Browner in as the punter.

hopefully dennard returns next week too. I've seen enough of Logan ryan and this soft zone crap defense.

dennard/browner/revis are all better with press man coverage. hopefully after last weeks debacle the coaches get their heads out of the sane and make some changes to the scheme. because this conservative BS when you have all that talent in the defense is rediculous

The misuse of Revis makes me wonder if Schiano is having any input on the defense. I mean, the way Schiano used him in 2013 was spectacular in just how terrible it was. Surely BB hasn't gotten that stupid... has he?

With browner back if BB plays him and Revis with off coverage I'm gonna lose my mins. It's not Duane Starks and Ellis Hobbs anymore enough of that soft carp.

This is the one signing that excited me in the offseason even more than Revis. Well maybe not more, but the idea of them together is exciting. I think Browner can come in and be a physical presence like Rodney Harrison used to be. I have been looking forward to week 5. Now for the love of God please let Revis and Browner play man to man and chuck these guys right at the line.

As said in this thread, Browner is no good if he is going to be misused like they have w/Revis.

Also the front 7 is playing so bad agianst the run, that Browner's effect on the defense won't be that much, because teams will be just running the ball down the Pat's D throat.

Browner would be dog *you know what* if he plays off his man that's not his game. IF Browner is not used exclusively to jam his man at the LOS we just wasted $$$$ with his signing.

If he is even active. BB may value a ST-only player like Don Jones for this game more than a physical CB like Browner.

Seriously though they need to burn and bury whatever game plan they had for the Chiefs and get aggressive. Browner isn't coming back from injury he's been working out these last 4 weeks, he was even working out at Gillette away from the team this past week. Dennard hopefully should be back. Put Ryan at the other Safety position he is probably more useful there than at CB.

Get Physical. Get Aggressive.

Would rather be physical and aggressive and get flags and give up the big play than guarding against the big play and giving it up anyway.

I suspect that is a big part of the problem. BB wants the corners in the best position for run support, which means facing the LOS, whether in man or zone, rather than playing bump and run and turning their back on the play as it develops. If the front 7 can fix their run issues, and most teams are not as tough as the Chiefs in that regard, then that frees-up Revus and Browner to do what they do best.

Browner is a great tackler and should help against the run. I do expect us to work Browner in slowly this week

But why is revis playing off the WR when talib was asked to play press coverage on the opposition's best player?
