Brady is not Done. Remember 06?

tom's throwing deep passes to julian edelman for gods sake. i love julian but come on. he isn't a deep threat. if brady had great weapons and was playing this poorly then i'd listen to the haters..

so much doom and gloom. GOPATS

...Last year during the preseason I made a comment to my coworker buddy who is also a Pats fan that Tom has lost some of the explosiveness in his hips and he's not generating the same kind of zip like he used to...

If Gisele were my wife, I'd lose the explosiveness in my hips too, from over-use.

Will the Bucs give us a 1st round draft pick?

Reunite Tommy with Logan Mankins?

I'm guessing that there'd be at least 6-8 teams that would not only give us a 1st, but also give us a 3rd as well.

We're talking about Tom Brady here...suddenly after a couple of games where our piss poor OL and WR options are exposed and people are actually going to wonder "if we can get a 1st?"

Hell, we may even be able to get a significant player thrown in there somewhere as well.

I still highly doubt that it's even being considered whatsoever though. Bad ideas get spread around here like wildfire, and this is no different.

This start has the same flavor as the beginning of 06 When brady was playing with a bunch of scrubs and everybody was talking about his body language. Turns out he finished strong and the next year 07 was the stuff of legends.

I'm more concerned with the loss of dante scarnecchia and the impact that his loss is having on the oline as well as the ineptness of Patricia as the DC. Are D is swiss cheese. And in line with that, i'm as concerned about Belichick's outdated defensive philosophy. Bend don't break is completly irrelevent.

I guarantee you, you put Brady on the Bucs and he's throwing 40 td's this season. You put him on the Texans and he's throwing 30 touchdowns. I promise you those teams are licking their chops hoping that they can get Brady right now.

Not meaning to pile on you, but I'm not seeing many common bonds with the 2006 team. At all...

The 2006 struggled offensively at times, sure---but our defense averaged giving up 14.8 points a game.

We also were 6-1 when we lost for the second time.

I don't think Brady is done, but I am getting concerned that his head isn't fully in the game right now. Randy Moss said on Fox Sports One that looking at the coverages, his two INTs were bad reads by him. I take Moss' word on this over others because he knows the offense and what the presnap reads are.

I would say in other games it was more the o-line, but this game I think it was a lot of him.

How does one "manage" a game where the opposing team is going to be putting up 30+ points a game?

Ball control...higher percentage plays....not trying to go deep on 2nd and 6 on your 2nd play from scrimmage?

Just about any game plan other than the one used would have worked better

favre was more robust and athletic than brady

The aging Favre would have run those three yards for the TD, shaken off the affects of the tackle, and then run it again. The current Brady version chose the safer route. If Brady fought for those yards, that could have been an emotional lift....but we will never know. Statue intact. Marino 2.0. I'm not faulting Tom for being conservative here, but this is football and the limitations of the immobile QB do affect the offense.
"Perfect Pocket or Bust"..........Defenses know where the target is 100% of the time......and that will continue to be a problem.

There is nothing wrong with Brady that

#1. an O-line that can give him some time to set up in the pocket
#2. receivers that can run a route and catch the ball
#3. an effective running game
#4. better play calling from the OC

couldn't cure.
