It's fun to read these now. I was right there with you guys, expecting the best even while telling myself "Nah don't make those kind of predictions."
2-2 through 4 games, and we haven't beaten anybody very good. One thing I saw last night was stretches where the O-line was playing okay and it was all about "who Brady trusts" in the ESPN in-game commentary.
The shot-across-the-bow benching will be all the rage this week. Brady's got a long leash, and I don't think - I don't
think - he gets replaced as starter without the season in or near the tank. As in, 2-4 at least, with accompanying production at QB. Not after 2-3, if that's what comes this weekend. Probably not until 2-5. What do these expectations look like? They look like the Tuesday after last night's Chiefs game.
Is last night's game The Truth? In combination with Miami, and in combination with poor offensive showings all season, you have to say this shows every sign of that being the case.
The difficulty is in isolating variables. Honestly, I would not be surprised to see reports of JimGar getting practice reps w/the first team soon. But that would assume we know who the first team is when he's getting reps with them
Right now? Disarray.
Through four games. It's comforting that in the NFL they play 16. Right now, this is a bad football team.
For now I keep telling myself, as Aaron Rogers might,
Looking back after 16 I hope I'm laughing that I was getting that sinking "End of Brady" feeling. But I'm getting it.
