Bengals Week - Things could get ugly

I personally believe the Chiefs offense is much more dangerous than the Bengals. I think it will be a close game, probably low-scoring and we will pull it off

We may very well end up getting clocked worse in this game than we did last night. I have to think the Bengals are going to take Edelman out of the game in an exceptional fashion. So, if nobody else continues to get open and if Patricia and BB are still smoking crack, we could get shut out and ran over.

In what galaxy is the Chiefs offense more dangerous than Cincy's?

I'll take an Andy Reid offense over hue Jackson any day of the week. Charles is probably the best back in the game right now and i would take Smith over Dalton

Smith and Dalton are negiligible since Smith never goes deep, Charles is better than Bernard but Bernard is still very dangerous, the Bengals OL is better than the Chiefs, and A.J. Green is a better WR than all of Kansas City's wideouts combined. Again, in no galaxy is the Chiefs offense more dangerous than Cincy's. That said, the Patriots CAN shut down the Bengals if the coaching staff doesn't go full ****** again. Press the receivers and throw some timely, well disguised blitz packages Dalton's way while setting the edge to make sure he doesn't get outside.

They dont need to take edelman out if their D Line gets after our oline as expected. There wont be any need for edelman to be covered with brady on the ground.

Playing at home made a difference for the chiefs but they are not as good as the bengals. Only hope is that its marvin lewis and andy dalton. But considering how poor how coaching staff has become , its not a something to lean on.

it is very simple - the patriots are not built for smash mouth football, and it has been that way since 2007.

the field won't be greased this week -- so we've got that going for us

You dont expect a bounce back game? Becuase i do. No matter hiw bad they have played....they just dont lose 2 in a row and are still very tough to beat at home. If it was in cincy then probally.

I must be the only one here who thinks they will play better and get the W. I know everyone here expects the pats to get blown out again next week. Guess i am in the minority.

Browner coming back is going to be huge

Well, the past history of the team is what everyone is leaning on. Unfortunately, this is not those once in a season stinker. This has been coming since last 4 weeks. Cant rely on past to expect better.
That said, each game is different. A turnover or a successful 2nd/3rd and 3 conversion last nite wouldve made the game different .So we can only hope.

Browner coming back is the catalyst for me saying in another post that we CAN shut down the Bengals if the coaching staff begins to trust their personnel instead of trying to fit square pegs in round holes.

It is a really weird season across the NFL, with two 3-0 teams even then no team seems dominant. Is any team really feared? I know Cincy has a great defense but I still cant give up on the Pats, they have done things before that are incredible and it will take that kind of effort this week. But I still think they are capable.

I didn't like the Lafell pick up but last night he showed he can play, that could be a big for the Pats going forward.

The O line wasn't good last night but in the first half I thought they looked better than previous weeks.

Im not sure the defensive line of Cincy is that much better or better at all than KC. KC gave Denver fits.

Tom has not played well regardless of the O line or not, I think he will soon.

Josh needs to convince BB to get DA off the field and at least if nothing else use Dobson as decoy or get Tim Wright involved. Ever notice every time DA catches a ball there is some kind of penalty, not saying it is him but did you notice it?

Defense, I think they are much better than last night, I dont know what happened but I still have confidence in them to go against any team and do ok.

No matter what I dont think youll see what happened last night again even against cincy.

Have Faith.

I dont know how muh he will be ready to play. Plus he has had issues illegal contact. Maybe they shoudve move him to safety and ask to play the enforcer role to set the tone.

I think the Pats will play better, it's hard not to play better after the way they played last night regardless who they are playing against.

I still don't understand why a lot of people on this site are saying "Danny Amendola is safe based off play time". Do you people not realize DA is getting this much play time because there are literally no other active WRs outside of JE and Lafell? I said it in the other thread, I highly doubt BB is putting Amendola out there this much because of the threat he thinks he brings.

I'm expecting a Thompkins return, not so sure about Dobson just yet.

I'm expecting the O line to remain the same lineup wise, it looked ok last night.

Why do we have vareen running up the middle on 1st downs? Has this staff lost all faith in Ridley? Ridley needs to see the ball on early downs in this upcoming game.

Hopefully they put Revis 1 on 1 no Zone BS on AJ Green.

Hopefully Browner can bring some toughness and attitude to this soft D.

My pessimism comes from the fact that when they usually lose games it's on the players not performing up to standards. For weeks now we have seen issues from the players and the COACHES making it harder to have optimism if the coaches are tripping over themselves. They don't even seem to be sure of what they want each game. Everyone feels lost.

I have faith that they will give it everything they got but I'm not sure how well that will cover up the deficiencies.

You do realize that the Patriots are benching two guys each week. Tyms cannot be any worse than inactive.

I'm not sure why people see this is as a negative. What de-activating two receivers says to me is that the Patriots are deep at receiver. That only gets deeper this week with Tyms' return.

LaFell looked pretty good to me last evening, so it was heartening to think about LaFell on the same page with Brady to go along with Gronkowski and Edelman.

I don't get the value of Amendola at this point (setting aside his contract.) He's not getting separation and he seems like more Edelman's backup than a go-to receiver.

If they're healthy, I'd go with a combination of Edelman, LaFell, Dobson, Gronkowski and Vereen on the majority of snaps. They are five different types of targets that would create a mismatch or two with opposing teams's secondaries and linebackers. All five have good hands, seem tenacious when fighting for the ball, and have YAC abilities.

I hope the Patriots settle on their staring 11 on offense and quit screwing around with so many personnel combinations that they look confused out there.

I am predicting a pats victory

I predict 41 - 3.

Because Dalton takes risks at times, he might give the pats a lucky turnover that prevents them from getting more.
