Steve Young just nailed it (Brady doing more, with less help)

It's the same as the Wes Welker situation. I don't know why people
Love to lineup and trash players that have been great for this organization. It's weird. Tom wasn't good tonight, for a lot of reasons other than: "Brady is done". It's painfully clear.

Steve Young doesn't know his ass from his elbow. I've never seen a bigger windbag and that's saying a lot for ESPN.

Brady may be declining, but how can we truly make that judgement when he's saddled with an OC who can't get out of his own way.

Why on earth did we sit our two best outside WRs and then go run 3 WR the whole game vs a team that has a below average run defense?

It's becoming clear, bb doesn't want Tom. The staff doesn't want Tom, the organization doesn't want Tom and are taking a very disrespect able route. Guys the damage is being done. I hate to say it and as a conspiracy as it may seem, it has to be the truth. No way you game plan this bad. I am now hoping Tom Brady goes to a team that has the talent for him to succeed so he can win the championships he deserves.

Guys the writing is becoming clear. It sucks but its unfolding

Don't you think BB would trade Tom before he completely loses his value? Why would he do that to Brady when he can trade him for higher compensation if he plays well?

Gronk - obviously still not healthy after his ACL
Dobson - not even playing
Thompkins - not even playing
Amendola - what really needs to be said?
LaFell - struggling mightily to get open, even just a bit
Wright - Who?
Hoo - TE3 level player

OL - nothing but a punch line at this point.

I really do hate McDaniels.

Agree 100%. They gave him nothing and have 14 mill in cap they didn't spend

Half of that money went to the bare basics like the signing of the rookies, in season moves, escalators, etc. We currently have about 7 million in cap room, according to Miguel.

Funny that Brady with Moss, Welker, Stallworth, Gaffney, and all his great weapons on offense came up small in the biggest game any team in the history of the NFL will ever play. Then a colossal bust against the Ravens and Jets at home. And funny that Manning with all his weapons did the same thing last February.

Nope, I don't care to see the Pats use that approach again.. been there, tried that, it didn't work out, move on.

Fact: Manning is going to finish ahead of Brady in most passing stats, have more records and more MVPs and there will always be fans who think Manning is superior. Deal with it. Because what other people think really doesn't matter.

Gimme game manager Brady who threw for 131 yards in the Rams Super Bowl along with a championship defense over an all world Brady and a defense who vomits all over the field like tonight.

Agreed. Been saying this for years. The guy calls head scratching plays and gives up on the run insanely quick. I'm sure the McDaniels supporters will be here to tell us for the x number of years that it's not his fault for the **** play calling.

According to Jonathan Kraft, they've got either $10 or S12 million. I forget which he said it was, earlier this evening.

steve thinks something is up with the brady sitting thing....doesn't sit right he is right

Pick 6 you don't come out he is right.....

Our season and even immediate future is still surrounded by whether or not our star QB is injured or not.

I don't see why anyone would have kept him in there with the score 41-14 deep into the game? Why would you risk getting him injured? Even the announcers knew JAG was coming in before he did.

From what I have seen even when he has time or open guys he is still missing. The one play tonight when he had time and lobbed a bad incomplete pass, or last week with Gronk wide open on the drag route off the PA pass, or when he made a bad pass to Gronk in the end zone last week where he didn't lead him and Woodson almost had a pick (Gronk ended up dropping it or the deflection), or the over leading Amendola on the goal line.

Not disagreeing Brady is missing more than he did in years past, my argument is that's to be expected @ 37. I can't make the argument that he isn't declining on some level, that would be moronic.

What I'm saying is you can pull tape of him missing throws in 2003 as well. Throws always were missed, it's just happening more.

I'm saying for a team that has depended on offense as heavily as the patriots have for a decade you would think they would've brought in some weapons to make the margin of error a little bigger not the opposite. That fielding one of the league's 5 worst offensive lines isn't going to help. Brady even when he has time is clearly not comfortable, the clock in his head goes off sooner than it would with a better line. That matters.

Brady made some great throws tonight as well, but again that won't happen as often either. Getting older sucks, but he hasn't dropped off as precipitously as is being stated here and in the media. It's ********.

I wonder if it's possible that Kraft is not accounting for certain things that Miguel is?

Funny that a guy who was hobbled and needed a walking cast in the days leading up to the game might struggle when the opponent was unleashing a furious pass rush against him, his TEs and first backup OL were all injured, and he lost his starting ORL early in the game?

Get out of here with this nonsense. Your posts really are getting more ridiculous as you go on.

Which SB team is this corp Better than and which Oline as well.

I'll wait.

How did the 2000-2001 Patriots offense do with Bledsoe? Nuff said.

I will concede Troy Brown but the rest of those "weapons"? Hell no. And Brady won a SB with them. go figure.

To be fair, is not like TB is playing really well. Could run for the first down, threw a incompletion instead. Force to Gronk in double coverage, forced to Elderman who was not open and caused a INT. He sucked and I cannot even blame him. 2nd and 2 to go and the team could not even find a lineman to run behind. TB rolled out and threw a incompletion. We are not going to win a lot of games with this Oline. You cannot sustain the drive, the D had to play a lot of mins and the D was exhausted and gave up points. Then you 3 and out and the D had to come back out again. BAD BAD BAD. I think Bill wants to be here a lot longer than TB. He wants to win without TB and I believe that is the reason he ignored the needs and pick a QB at 2nd.

I'm not really buying into this--at least not 100 percent. I agree that it's obviously on the coaches too, but what I saw was a comedy of errors....piss poor tackling, etc. I wonder if someone will count how many missed tackles we had?

I get what you're saying but... We'd beat that Giants team 9 times out of 10.

And at this point, it doesn't seem like the "sub-par offense but elite d" type of team you're talking about will even get us to the playoffs.

I think Bill wants to be here a lot longer than TB. He wants to win without TB and I believe that is the reason he ignored the needs and pick a QB at 2nd.

Or, he could've realized that Mallett sucks (at least in this system), and wanted to have another viable backup and possible QB for the future?

I don't think it's a conspiracy plan to purposely "ignore needs," if that's what you're saying.

I wonder if it's possible that Kraft is not accounting for certain things that Miguel is?

It's certainly possible. Notably, OTC has the Patriots with more than $10 million in space, too, which would be in line with Kraft, and the NFLPA has it with even more space. Here's Miguel's take:

According to my figures the Patriots' 2014 current commitment is for $110,472,659 with 60 players signed. I have the Patriots' 2014 dead money as $16,607,384. The Patriots have 5 players on Injured Reserve. Their cap total is $1,792,600. Maintaing the ten-man practice squad has cost $1,089,900. $16,607,384 + $110,472,659 + $1,792,600 + $1,089,900 = $129,973,743. My numbers do INCLUDE the transactions made on September 27th. The Patriots 2014 adjusted cap number is $139,109,051 so I have the Pats under it by $9,135,108. The NFLPA cap report has the Patriots under their adjusted cap number by $14,164,190 so our numbers differ by $5,028,882.Please note that my numbers are now including everyone (all 53 players, 4 players on IR, the 2 suspended players, and the 10-man practice squad) while the NFLPA's does not yet.
