Anyone else just feel depressed right now?

The team has a talent problem, Rob. The coaching has been **** at times, but this is a team that's hurting, talent-wise. Belichick is the de facto King of this team. He buys the groceries. He gets the praise when the team wins, he deserves the blame when the team is completely uncompetitive in a blowout like this.

I don't think the talent problem is nearly as bad as it looks. Tonight it wasn't a talent problem, it was a coaching and execution problem. The Pats have talent on defense and they played like absolute dung. And at least one of Brady's more talented receiving weapons (probably two of them) were watching the game from the press box.

It's September...... The team has been 2-2 before and done well

That said, if this team does not make the playoffs, this will be Brady's last year and the team will look completely different next year

I'm not even angry at this point, I'm just depressed after this game. Like all the sports fan life has been sucked outta me.
Now you know how it feels to be a Jets Fan! (At least for a week)

Considering I am an alcoholic who was struggling w depression all year especially today

The game was my escape and my favorite player/team/coach in sports history sold out in front of everyone, like I said before Sox down 3-0 won 8 straight, that is heart, and NE broke mine tonight.

Everyone in mattapan sq where I am at right now is either silent or shocked, amped up looking for questions my fav player just got benched and dissed by every ex QB ESPN could find.

Things to be thankful for tonight

1. We aren't the Jets, Oakland, Browns or Bills
2. We can still make the playoffs by winning our crap division
3. I didn't subscribe to sunday ticket or cable
4. No injuries
5. The 2007 Giants were not even supposed to make the playoffs, let alone beat the 18-0 pats. (Still too soon?)

Negatives:
1: Practically everything about the game.
2: The mediots furiously masturbating at the prospect of the Brady/BB era coming to a close
3: I need to clean my fridge
4: I watched a boring as all **** movie last night
5: I got to go to the bank to replace my card tomorrow.

Positives:

1: No injuries
2: LaFell showed some promise
3: It's only 4 games into the season.. I'd feel a lot worse if we were playing like this in game #12 as opposed to game #4.

Depressed this team has finally shown they don't want to win with Brady. He has done everything possible, and is being disrespected. It may be a little knee jerk but I sincerely think bb wants Tom gone.

I'm not depressed. I'm more frustrated because I have a nagging urge that all season is going to feel like this. That there is going to be willful ignorance by the coaching staff. That the team will be hard pressed to click on all cylinders for a single game. I hope I'm wrong but I feels like one thing gets fixed something else breaks. Like the Offense falls apart in Miami and the defense cant get it together and we lose. The Oline falls apart in Minnesota the Defense and the rest of Offense make it work. The whole offense is in shambles against the Raiders, the defense wins the game for us. Tonight the O-line seemed semi fixed but the offense and defense both crap the bed and we lose. I'm waiting on that elusive game where the entire offense and Defense play well.

Neither side is playing well enough to carry the team to a win against a good team if the other side isn't contributing. I'm frustrated because I feel we are wasting one of Brady's final playing years.

No. I'm looking forward to next week, actually. I love the Pats and can't wait to see them back on the field.
can you be depressed and still love the pats? after a game like that isnt it normal to be depressed? i think you are whistling past the grave yard. if you arent depressed after a game like that there is something wrong with you. unless you dont care.

I just want it to be next sunday night now so we can put this game behind us.

Why should we expect anything different? No one can get open. Not sure how that is gonna change in just 6 days.

To take my mind off of this train wreck of a game, I finished my rough draft for my paper after the game and just sent it in. Now, I am thinking about this game again. We need a lot of work and on a short week. I hope we keep Tyms and give him playing time. He is a diamond in the rough.

I'd recommend watching a film to distract yourself from this crapaclysm of a loss. It usually does wonders for me when things like this happen.

No I sort of expected the first half season would be rough, and I thought back in preseason the Chiefs would likely win this game. Just like I expect the Bengals to have a good shot next week

You have to crack eggs to make an Omelet. Belichick is a great chef, creating masterpieces blending disparate players into a Team.

It isn't subtle: our offense sucks right now. Sucks donkey. We're talking nearly Jets level of suckage. So yeah, I'm freakin' depressed and feel really bad for Brady. We are in a flipping rebuilding season on offense even though we have what on paper should be the best defense we've had in almost 10 years. This isn't new from this week: this has been clear from week one when we got manhandled by the Dolphins, and from our pathetic offensive outings in our two wins. Oh, and Josh McDaniels can suck it.

All due respect man, there's losing a game and there's completely crapping the bed. The Pats did the later.

The only depressing thing is we might be seeing the end of Tom Brady, he's just not the QB he was even last year, you can put it down to the receivers or OL all you want but some of his decisions or staring down 1 receiver is just not right. Remember, his contract is fully guaranteed after this season so if his play doesn't improve then well...

It's only 4 games though so hopefully the benching has lit a fire under him and the Bengals are the unlucky recipient of an angry, fired up Patriots team lead by some vintage Tom Brady.

the amendola pick was terrible. double coverage, throws behind danny even though he wasn't open. just awful. then tom just stands on the sidelines all alone, no one tries to comfort him, nothing...think i saw slater next to him. at the end of a career, we should try to get him one more ring instead we sign average **** like amendola and draft garbage like boyce. lol

2: LaFell showed some promise

And that is because, unlike most players on the team, he was used in a way to took advantage of his abilities. Seriously, Pete Carrol is not the innovator of doing this. Expecting players to do things in a way that hinders them from using their actual skill set and expecting them to grow into that role isn't working. Too many guys hanging their heads, knowing they suck at what they are asked to do. Maybe some of them change their identity, but that isn't fair, and it isn't a way to win. You do that when you lose a player to injury. Not free agency and trades.

I don't find it normal to get depressed over the Patriots. And I love them as much as anyone. But in the end it's entertainment and not something I get depressed about. I wasn't depressed after any playoff loss or when Brady went down in 2008. So why be now? The team could go 5-11 and I would not be depressed.

I prefer a giant embarrassment more than multiple tightly contested losses. At least this way there is no way to talk around obvious flaws and issues - there are no excuses. Personally, I hope that the team (including the coaching staff) will use the feeling of futility and anger from yesterdays game to push themselves harder from now on and don't take everything for granted.

The loss hurts, but in the grand scheme of things this was a game we could afford to lose. The gameplan was definitely at the very least questionable on both sides and, yet, there is no other team and coaching staff that I trust more to right the ship.

If you ask me, it will make for a great opening chapter on next years America's Game.
