We got Randy Moss one year and Traded Moss & Maroney in another trade.

Last year we got Blount who had much more of an impact than people expected.

Let's face it, you never know when Bill is going to make a trade.

If we were going to trade, I would like to see us get another guard.

Yeah I know..... Someone will suggest Mankins.

We know that is not going to happen.....

I would love a tough guard or a
Talented deep threat.

Don't need a deep threat. Need Dobson in NFL game shape which I don't think he has been the first few weeks as he missed all of the preseason outside of the last week.

Correct. We have a "deep threat". Needs to get on the field.

We need an oline that can protect Brady long enough for the receivers to run intermediate to deep routes. Until we have that I don't see the deep route receiver as a big need.

I'd like a trade for a starting caliber guard

Who do you think might be available?

If the OL doesn't improve and a specific player is available at a reasonable price, I could see BB making a move. But I haven no idea right now who that could be. I suggested trading for Talib in 2012 weeks before the trade deadline as the most cost-effective and likely way of shoring up a bleeding secondary (along with moving McCourty to FS), but as of right now I have no idea who might be on the market who would significantly improve our line.

Spotrac lists the top OL FAs for 2015 as Michael Roos, King Dunlap, Doug Free and Orlando Franklin. Not a guard among them. I think Mike Iupati is a FA, but SF is expected to re-sign him, and I can't see them being interested in trading him to the Pats.

If you have anyone in mind, I'm interested in hearing it.

Would like an improvement at guard. I feel like that is the one big, glaring, killer weakness thus far. Poor guard play has created poor O-Line play, which has created poor pockets which means no way to throw the deep route anyway, even if Dobson was out there. (Still think Thompkins is a decent fill-in when Dobson is out in that role)

An improvement at the guard spot(s) would fix a number of problems.

I also have no idea who it could be.
It's a wish not to be confused with practical reality.
Then again the Ted W and Moss trades surprised me.

  • All trading ends for 2014 at October 28, 4:00 p.m., New York time.

Who or what would you give up??

We'll see.

Many were ready to trade for a TE or SS 6 weeks ago; now, not so much.
