Fleming at RG and Connolly at LG???....Connolly has played RG or C. This gets nuttier by the week.

Desperation due to poor play by both guards last week.

Great to hear, i hope they stick with it.

Unleash the Stork!

Get your best athletes out there, I love this move.

To be honest, although these first few games have been a torture to watch, I like the experiments they are doing. It seems to me, and this is only a theory, that Belichick went all in on this rebuilding O-line. Instead of switching pieces one by one to get the players acclimated and merged into one solid wall, he got the opportunity of Scar leaving, got the new guys and also anticipated the Mankins move that would most likely happen next season.

It creates a mess of course and we are seeing that, but it's going to get solved earlier too because they have a full season to get some chemistry. I prefer a 9-7 team who gets hot in the right time than those 13-3 teams deluded by the regular season and not tested for the physical match ups that comes in January.

If this is what really happened, like I said I like the experiments, I just don't like the pieces, they could bring someone better than the Tuba Player, it was a deep draft after all.

I was going with Solder - Cannon - Stork - Fleming - Volmer line after Mankins trade happend, still think its the final result. But swapping Connelly to LG helps both Solder and Stork, when the rest Work I beleave we gonna see Cannon back at LG.

I gotta be honest, I liked the Mankins trade at the time - but I assumed the Pats had a plan. All this OL shuffling since then really does not sit well with me. You don't trade your most competent OL without a good contingency plan. I don't care if he was overpaid.

That said, this new lineup is probably worth investing in. Getting Fleming and Stork out there is a good thing.

To tell you the truth, I think tonight's line up was the original plan all along for the o-line minus Flemming.

Would prefer this type of info didn't leak.

Perhaps. But it is kind of late to do anything with it now if you are KC. Also what tae is there to study on Stork and Flemming? not much.

I'm not nearly as down on Devey as many here, but I think "he's just not ready right now" is pretty much spot on.

Agreed. Our coaching staff isn't usually completely off about someone's potential talent when we throw someone into the mix. He might just need more time.

That's a beefy line. Don't be angry when we run the ball a ton again!

Yeah, agreed. The big issue seems to be that Cannon's not ready, and may never be, to play guard.

Many of us have questioned the decision to put Cannon At LG.

Some have us have been pleading for Connolly to be put at LG, not possible last week because Connolly was needed at center.

Personally, I am surprised that Fleming is now considered a better RG than Cannon, who has played at that position from time to time. I am fine with the decision if Fleming is ready. As folks said, he could be as ready as Stork.

One or two got it right. They (was it just one) wanted Connolly at LG AND Fleming at RG. I "wanted" Cannon at RG as what I thought was the best option. I am overjoyed that Fleming has now passed Cannon on the depth chart.

BOTTOM LINE (if rumors are true)
Stork and Fleming needed time to get ready for prime time. Apparently, they are now ready. So much for Fleming being "raw". Also, Wendell is now healthy and available as a backup center, and Cannon at the backup swing OT and blocking TE. Kline could even be active as an emergency backup OG.

I am very, very comfortable with
1) Cannon returning to his role as backup OT.
2) Devey being on the bench, or better yet inactive.

A MAJOR WARNING (if rumors are true)
This is our 2014 line playing its first game together. It may take a month or so to gel, and no time at all to better than last week.

this instability is going to get brady killed.

two rookies starting for the first time @ arrowhead. better get rid of the ball quickly to minitron.

Not gonna be surprised if there is going to be penalties due to rookies starting and loud Arrowhead, but this lineup intrigues me let's see what the kids can do protect our best player.

Couple questions here and yes I have a lack of knowledge.
I know people are down on Devey and rightfully so but what about Kline?
Also, is Cannon better at G or OT?
I thought Flemming was an OT as well?

Do we have any other O-line guys for depth?

Connolly at LG has got to provide better protection for Brady than Cannon. I suspect that the right side will often have an extra lineman (Cannon). Felming-Vollmer-Cannon should provide better protection than having Devey on the right side.

THIS IS NOT ABOUT INSTABILITY.

It is about having AWFUL play by our two guard wanabees: Cannon and Devey. It is impressive that the team has decided that the experiment has gone on long enough.
