2010 and 2012 he was an animal and in the 6 games he played last season he looked great too.
Mayo has always been one of my favorites on this team. He's a true Patriot.
I think we are seeing a more playmaking type of player now because the players around him finally allow for him to go make plays like rush the QB or hit the gap harder than before. It helps to get good players around you.

who cares about the defense? you will have to surrender your Patsy Drama Queen membership cards if you continue posting or attempt to post anything positive about the Patriots
He's always been outstanding. He know has a supporting cast of versatile athletic players and can call his own number on a blitz once in a while.
Stand by your man! Er..men!
(I know, Tammy Wynette. Sue me!)
that does it! I'm gonna post a "We should Have Drafted Vernot Goatston Instead Of Mayo" thread....give me a second while I dredge up lists of everybody/anybody who was drafted in 2008.
Gholston tricked everybody. Not just because of his combine #'s but he had elite production. He had 14 sacks and was the only player to beat Jake long for sack. Everybody would have been psyched at the time had the patriots drafted him.
As for Mayo he is in the best shape of his career. He looks as quick and as explosive as he did as a rookie while obviously being much stronger. He is going to have the best year of his career and may even surpass Bowman and Willis and couple others as the best LB in the NFL as long as he continues to hold up in coverage duties which I expect him to because he is as quick as he was as a rookie with the experience he has picked up as a veteran. He is for sure in his best condition ever and its showing up on the field. Defensive player of year candidate
"...severely overrated, overpaid, slow..." Sounds like a couple of guys on 98.5 between 2-6pm...No but the guys on the radio between 2-6pm said Mayo is a severely overrated, overpaid, slow, run stopping LB.
