Projecting Monday's Offensive Line Without Connolly

BB and the OL coach will ignore the obvious and continue to attempt to drive square pegs into round holes.
The offensive line may set the Patriot's record for sacks allowed in this game.

Donte Poe, Tamba Hali, and Justin Houston against are OL. I am actually considering opening a thread whether or not we should sit Brady out...o_O

I doubt they start stork a rookie on the road in that environment. Next week looks more likely.

Could be a more 6-7 man blocking with Fleming and Hooman/Gronk with emphasis on running to the sidelines , helping out the center vs poe. Very similar to the Vikings game.

So Connolly was not in the locker room again today, which doesn't bode will for him playing on Monday. We will see if he's there tomorrow. I'm sure you all know that players who are injured and not playing don't talk to the media.

What I want:

I thought about swaping Solder and Vollmer, but i don't think the former have any experience as a RT. I also thought of putting Cannon at RT and then swaping Vollmer to the left side, but, since we lack interior O-linemen to make it happen (God forbids putting Devey on the line again, too), i didn't.
Wendell is mediocre at best and returning of a injury. Stork should be test, even if he gets his hands full.

What will happen

I hope my guts are worng

I still dont see them putting devey in after what happened last week. I think that was the last straw of the devey experiment.

more likely to see them give Kline a shot at it.

Really?

I don't care if he wasn't in the lockerroom. He was on the FIELD today!!!

Who's the happy guy wearing #63 between :43-:50 of this report smiling up at Brady as he stretches with the OL?????????

I understand he was. I'm simply going by what we've seen in the past. If a player isn't going to play, they usually (just about always) aren't in the locker room during media access. We won't really know until NE either declares people out prior to travel or around an hour before game time.

This is how Brady should dress...

What's obvious?

Stork gets his first start at Arrowhead. He'll have Wendell right next to him helping make line calls

I was watching the FSU game, and the commentators were talking about stork. They said FSU had one of the best olines last year and only lost stork in the draft, the rest were returning players. And suddenly, the oline had regressed they were talking. So it got me to thinking, could stork be a great piece that we need to insert. To me it sounded like when stork was in last year, the oline was great for fsu. Now it isn't so good. I know college and NFL are huge differences, but it doesn't help but think stork can help transform this line for the better

BTW, my projected Monday night line up will be (from left to right):

Solder - Kline - Wendell - CONNOLLY - Vollmer

I think they are going to make massive changes. I think Wendell gets the start because first the o-line wasn't bad before he went out in Miami and second they need an experienced center to handle the silent snap count and communicate the adjustments in a loud environment.
Ah, What Would Dante Do (WWDD)?

I think exactly this. We know he would be in favor of Kline over Devey, judging from last year. And Wendell has smarts in a big way, and Dante is a big backer of both he and Connolly. Connolly, if healthy, may be a better guard than Cannon.

Go with what can get the job done. Stork can fill in at guard. Part of why they drafted him when they did was his versatility.

If Devey comes out and starts, I'm curious to hear people's reactions. Will anyone turn the game off right then?

I think that [Solder-Kline-Wendell-Connolly-Vollmer] would be a disaster. Dontari Poe will eat Wendell alive.
In the shotgun? Really?

And we survived quite well with an undersized center in the past in Dan Koppen who, as the season progressed, looked as though he lost weight, being generously listed at 290.

One thing to remember is that Wendell and Connolly can work together better than probably any other tandem we have right now. Good smarts and communication. Just lacking in stoutness and ability.

But throwing in a clueless big guy like Devey or a tackle playing out of position in Cannon may not be the go-to option right now. We need the unit to settle down and gel. Back to basics.

Ideally, by season's end, I think we could see Connolly at center with Kline and Stork at guards. I really wish we had been able to draft Trai Turner in the third, taken just before us by the Panthers, prompting us to trade out of the spot.
