Things About to Get Ugly in Baltimore

If you've decided who the "victim" is you've already decided the case.

Wow. That is an alarmingly narrow-minded statement. In doing an investigation where if the case is true, the victim is unlikely to be a reliable witness due to fear (of her life, of her image, of what will come of her life), you separate the likely victim from the accused. This is not a particularly difficult concept to understand, even where there isn't video evidence of an unconscious body being dragged from an elevator by the suspect. Frankly, I'm baffled why you would even post this. Are you being deliberately ignorant of the context of the discussion to make some point that escapes most of us?

what about ME???????

do I have any flashes of humanity???please...please tell me I haven't become the monster I so feared would happen one day...I'm begging you...

I LUUUVVV YOU, MAN!!!! (Now your troubles are complete.)

well...I like you, pal....of course that's like the kiss of death around here lately...so...sorry.
Au contraire...it's a badge of honor to be proudly and prominently displayed...until the authorities arrive...

Add me to the list of those who get bored quickly by the myriad back & forth posts with multi-quotes. Difficult to follow and more importantly not worth the time.

I'm not against disagreeing & debate. That's an important function of the forum.

My rule of thumb is after the 3rd back & forth, gather your thoughts and make a concluding summary of your points if you must and let the matter stand on its merits. Most readers will have moved on.

I don't know what the hell you're talking about? All I said last year was that BAL would remain competitive amongst the "doom and gloom" predictions about them losing all of their free agents and big named players.

Considering that they were still in the playoff hunt down the stretch in the last game of the season, I'd have to highly disagree with you that I was "wrong" about much of anything. I pointed to their mediocre 9-7 record that won them the SB the year before and stated that they'd likely be right around the same record. I also stated that their SB winning defense wasn't even that great, and claimed that they could even be better on that side of the ball.

They ended up at 8-8, so they were ONE game off of their pace at the year before.

And by the way, if I had a nickle every time you've been wrong I'd be quite wealthy--so you're just showing your usual level of arrogance by trying to make things up. Anyone who actually read the thread that predicted the "demise" of the Baltimore Ravens would easily point out that I did not even really go out of my way to make any kind of bold predictions whatsoever, but I'm guessing that you probably already know that.
Gee, a little touchy?
I remembered that last year you were high on the Ravens and they took a step back, so I commented when you made another post seemingly that you feel they are better than most do.
Why you must find controversy in that is confusing to me.

@AndyJohnson ---It would be extremely short-sighted to look at a team who has been highly competitive, yet with mediocre records in a division of great parity, and state that they are automatically out of the hunt due to a suspended running back.

If you actually agree with that ridiculous statement than you are not only something of an arrogant bully, but you have way less football knowledge than I ever assumed....

I've always thought that you were a very intelligent poster with flashes of actual humanity, but were probably just one of those guys who had a strong position with every single subject known to man. Your recent comments have made me reassess my position. You have done absolutely nothing to push the conversation further by attempting to call people out, and your pages and pages of back and forth arguing do this forum no good in any way.
Again, I made a comment. I actually meant it, and there really was nothing in that comment that you should find offensive. I think you read something between the lines that isn't there, but if this is how you feel, we can just put each other on ignore and move on.

I'd much rather not if it's the same to you. Take care.

In all fairness though, if you look up the thread that was super doom and gloom, it predicted the demise of the Baltimore Ravens over losses such as Ed Reed, Bernard Pollard, etc.

Since that was total crap, I pointed it out--stating that if they can win the SB at 9-7, (which was pretty much their "standard" kind of record), why would anyone think that they are suddenly going to fall off the face of the earth?

I also pointed out that their SB winning defense wasn't even that good, and that they had the potential to field an even better defense, which was proven right in certain categories.

They still had a chance to receive the wildcard in week #17, but they lost to CIN. Considering that they haven't gone anywhere, are still very competitive, and are currently the 7th ranked team in some power rankings, I would actually say that I was a lot closer to being correct than I was not.

To say that I predicted some great season for the BAL Ravens last year would be incorrect. I actually was on record many times saying that "there was so much parity in the AFCN, if you played the season 3 times, you'd likely have 3 different divisional winners."

I didn't go back and reread the thread. My memory was that you felt the Ravens would be as good or better, and most felt they would take a step back.
I was just commenting that despite them missing the playoffs, you seem unwavered in your opinion of them, and I commended you for sticking to your guns.

Well, apologies then--since I seemed to have taken it the wrong way. For the record, I think there are going to be plenty of things that I (or "we) are both right and wrong about in the future.

I took it as you being a bit of a condescending jerk, and continuing any issues that we've had in the past. That was my mistake and I seriously do apologize.

As far as the Ravens go--I still think that for the most part, they are the perennial 9-7 type of team. Nothing spectacular, but always with the potential to be a pain in the butt. I felt as though many were exaggerating thoughts of their demise with the replacement of certain (overrated in my opinion) players such as Pollard, Reed, the LB that went to Cleveland, etc.

I have then at 8-8 this year 3rd in division

This clip pretty much captures the essence of Gooddell's press conference (and the man himself) rather well IMHO...

(Keep a sharp lookout for our old friend Darius Butler. :))

P.S. I am sorry if this post steers the thread away from the value judgment of the Baltimore Ravens performance on the field and back towards their performance (in conjunction with the NFL office) off the field. ;)

P.P.S. Also, sorry to the Mods/Members if there is some potty language in this clip that was not 100% bleeped out. Alas, it is not TV, it's HBO...

You could be right. That division is very hard to predict in my opinion--which is why I usually stay with the thought that any of the 3 competitors could win it.

Obviously, most would place BAL and PIT a notch or two below CIN--which is much easier to do now that they've gotten off to a very hot start at 3-0, but the truth is that either one of those teams can beat CIN just as well.

I think CIN probably wins the division, but BAL and PIT should likely be very competitive and push for WC appearances. Just my opinion of course. The bottom line is that I wouldn't sleep on any of the 3.

Heh. "You know that things are not going well when you lose the moral high ground to a TMZ reporter."

http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/1...eo-was-sent-nfl-security-chief-jeffrey-miller

"Since the NFLPA and NFL have launched separate investigations into the league and the Ravens' handling of Ray Rice's case, I want to make a few things clear. No one from the NFL ever asked me for the inside-elevator video," the official said Thursday. "I mailed it anonymously to Jeff Miller because he's their head of security. I attached a note saying: 'Ray Rice elevator video. You have to see it. It's terrible.' I provided a number for a disposable cellphone and asked for confirmation that it was received. I knew there was a possibility Mr. Miller may not get the video, but I hoped it would land in the right hands."

NFL denies everything...again...seems everybody in the country is a liar except for Goody Poo Shoes and his henchmen. How can this ever end well?

Wait, what? What the hell is that supposed to mean? I know what a burner cell phone is, but why would you use it in this instance?
