Dante Provides Some Insight...

A slicker quick pass/run situation with receivers being where they're supposed and looking for the ball to would help in the interim. Look at the line talent we won 3 SBs with, it was not comparable to our current lineup as far as draft picks go.

Funny how nobody ever mentions Brady's lack of mobility as being a contributing factor to this problem. During the glory years, Brady slid around the pocket with finesse, found a bit of space, strided forward with perfect mechanics, and delivered beautiful tight spirals to the perfect location. Unfortunately, the book out on Brady the last half dozen years is "push up the middle and alter his mechanics" and some teams have succeeded with this strategy. He's not a gunslinger that can fire the ball accurately from contorted positions...few are. Alter his stride forward and he becomes average....and therefore the team becomes average (9-8 playoff record after 2004) . This year, we hope the defense will elevate the odds again because this O line can't create the perfect pocket needed.

I don't have patience when at the current pace we are going to get our QB killed.

Uh, he's not referring to some imaginary game. The Patriots won 41-38 in overtime against the Chiefs in 2002. The Patriots won because Brady had probably the first truly prolific game of his career, but also because they won the coin flip in overtime and kicked a field goal to win it (the Chiefs would have gotten it back under current OT rules).

The Broncos scored 31 points, not sure how that's "hardly scored." Sure, 24 of those came in the first half, but Patriots really had no business winning that game.

I'm not sure if you're discounting the value of a strong running game and controlling the clock ("taking too much damn time"), because, well...

Uhhhh 12 years ago...who exactly won?

If Holmes didn't run that much, Trent Green would have thrown one less pick, would have gone 29-39 with 382 yards, 4 TD's and the Chiefs would have won 46-34.

Denver hardly scored like...... on a fumble return, 6 yard drive and a few yards for a FG. 13 of 17 points were already built in because....like..they were in FG range.............

patsfans.com spent that entire week devastated because Knowshon Moreno ran all over the defense yet somehow that gamesaw the lowest yards per snap in several years for a Manning lead offense.

How exactly do you reconcile these two views?

It seems hard to believe but over two decades after victory, it appears this site still can't reconcile the concept and objective of BB saying the Giants win if Thurman Thomas gets over 100 yards.

What are you trying to do?

True, Mike the Brit. The Pats haven't seemed to fix the sudden departure of Brian Waters a couple of years ago. I think they were hoping to in this year's draft, but it didn't work out.
