It doesn't look like our OL is getting any better... I know it is early in the season and will probably give them to week 6 to figure it out. I think Stork is an obvious upgrade at center, but I have to temper my expectations on that move.

Cannon seems like a poor fit for guard, Vollmer has been our best player (not saying much) and Solder has really struggled. Connolly, always has been a mediocre presence, but it seems even his play has declined. No words can describe how bad Devey has been... Kline was ten times better than Devey in his 4 games last year.

Is the answer on the roster? How would a line of Solder - Kline - Stork - Fleming - Vollmer look?

If the answer is not on the roster... who is available? We know BB isn't afraid to make a trade but we could really use a legit guard on our roster. I am not advocating for Richie Incognito on this roster, but who else is there?

We're dooooomed.

I think your proposed line of Solder--Kline--Stork--Fleming--Vollmer would be horrible, to be honest with you. I understand the thinking and I share your same concern, but really...changing 3/5 positions and throwing 2 rookies and a JAG in there is going to make everything much better?

Like you said, I'm sure they'll continue to work through things and have some options that they may explore. What those options are is anyone's guess. Stork may be able to play more, although we're certainly pinning some high hopes on a 4th round rookie.

They could experiment with Kline at LG like last year, which would be my 2nd option behind hoping that Stork can play more at C. I thought Kline looked okay in the times that we saw him last year, but apparently Belichick does not agree. It's possible that Mankins playing LT (due to Solder being out) may have made his play look much better.

What will probably happen is Wendell will get healthy and Connolly will move back to RG.

If there was somebody out there that would be worth starting, he wouldn't be unemployed in a league that collectively has about 300 offensive linemen on their rosters.

I agree with this in general, but then I remember Daniel Thomas was begging for a job for an entire year until the Patriots picked him up. Now he's making millions while sitting on IR with a broken leg.

Play along here.........as long as Brady can stay upright, the issues with the line could turn out to be a good thing.

Seasons past, when Brady was kept clean all year, we were ill prepared come playoff or Super Bowl time to overcome a ferocious attack such as the Giants brought twice in super bowls as well as Broncos last year and Jets a few years back.

At least now, we will be very well prepared in dealing with this kind of adversity.

I do believe the line will improve and I love what we have on "D".......I'm ready to return to the place I said I would never travel to again........back to the desert!!

Incognito is worth a shot at this point to be honest

At the very least I hope there's a trade. Bill made one to address the blatantly bad secondary a few years ago (Talib) so I can imagine he's looking to do the same this year, except for the o-line.

Brady and Gisele are probably having him over for dinner this week to discuss the issue

I agree that if Wendell is healthy, Connolly will be playing RG. To me the question is Stork. It would seem that Connolly should be playing OG (right or left) and wither Stork or Wendell should be playing center. Personally, I think that this improvement is a matter of time (and health). We have better options than playing Devey with Wendell and Stork healthy.

IMHO, we are not focusing on the MORE SERIOUS problem for the rest of the season. Solder has looked really bad with no help from his LG. We have been focusing on changes at RG and C. Perhaps, we would be better off with a change on the LEFT side. Perhaps, Vollmer needs to be the LT. Or perhaps, we need Connolly or Kline at LG. Cannon is a better RG than Devey. It is not clear to me that he is a better LG than Connolly or even Kline.

based on last year i think its safe to say that wendell shouldn't be starting for the patriots. Stork full time from here on out.

Give Cannon time at LG, remember he was groomed for RT and it will take time to get acclimated. Start Fleming and Stork and give them til the trade date to show something. But if they do need to trade, bill must be prepared to give up a top pick. Could take a #2 and 3 for a standout guard. Those Talib bargains aren't always there. Nobody is giving away a very good tackle/guard for a mid rounder

Where is this "Start Fleming!" meme coming from?

I wonder if the beating administered to Brady Sun afternoon (and the fear of having to call plays without him) will make Josh want to run the ball consistently. I understand the line has been worse at run blocking than pass blocking, if that is even possible, but at least Ridley can take the pounding until they figure out how to block.
