I know it's very early: But KC

Our OL vs their Front 7 should be interesting. If we can establish a run game, it will make our lives a lot easier. If we can't run, or don't try to run, Hali and Houston just get to pin their ears back and rush without discipline.

I like our defense versus their offense. Stop their run game and don't let Alex Smith pick you apart with checkdowns and short passes to TEs.

Anyone else see this being an extremely low scoring game? I don't see either offense putting up many points. I say we pull this one out 13-7.

Who told you?

One of the persons connected to the breaking the record.

My neighbor sits with a fan called X Factor who is sort of in charge of this whole thing.

Last year, after the Pats looked terrible against the Jets and Bill, they headed to Atlanta. We ended up learning a lot about that team from that game. I see this game as being very similar. Atlanta was 1-2 last year. KC is 1-2 this year. Last year, the Pats had one good game - the Tampa game. This year, the Pats have had one OK game - Minn. After the Atlanta game we played Cinci, after the KC game we will play Cinci. Just saying.

Not sure if how much of this was shown on TV, but after Tuck blew by Solder one time Brady got walloped, was very slow to get up, then stood bent at the waist for a while before he could move. He threw a ball into the turf, and when he came to the bench he was holding his side and wincing. It was hard to watch and my big concern in KC is the pass rush, especially outside. I want to think that BB will fix the OL problems, but I'm not sure they can do it before Monday night. Priority 1 is keeping Brady upright.

If the defensive line gives Alex Smith all day to throw like they did with Carr, we're in big trouble.

This is a defense-first football team now, period. Our offense isn't going to go out there and orchestrate 3 or 4 touchdown drives against this team on the road with where it is right now, developmentally. We can win this game 23-20, or 20-17, but we're not going to win 34-31. Brady is reduced to being a game manager QB right now, and we're running the ball A LOT, for good reason. The defense is going to be carrying us for at least the next month (November was when our offense started rolling last year, I expect the same this year) but it won't be able to do that if we can't get pressure with our four down linemen alone.

I hope Jones, Ninko, Wilfork, and Easley eat their Wheaties Monday morning, because our best chance of beating KC lies with them.

Edit: To be clear, I'm only putting it on the line because I am 110% confident in the exceptional play of our secondary.

KC has a very good run game and say what you will be Andy Reid, he runs a very good balanced offense. KC doesn't scare me, if we play a good game we win, but this is a team where if we play like we did against the Fish/Raiders we lose.

Buddy, you don't know Andy Reid. He hates the run and will not commit to it. Never will. This is going to be a tough game and the first real test of the Pats defense.

We may score 4 field goals and win the game. Defense will be the key, and coaching.

Andy Reid will find a way to fug up his timeouts and lose the game.

KC doesn't scare you? DT's that can push the pocket and superior talent off the edge. We may be playing 7 offensive linemen at a time this game. Combine that with an extremely tough place to play and a QB that doesn't usually hand over the game (like Cassel), and we are in a great deal of trouble. Keep in mind we were handled by a less talented team in Miami.

This team outplayed Denver in a game they lost in Denver. The good thing is they were handled by Tennessee at home in their first game, and we are much closer to resembling Tennessee than we are Denver.

The #23 ranked offense that got smacked around by Tennessee at home? Sorry just can't get behind that.

How about the team that completely outplayed Denver in Denver? How about the best pass rushing front four we've seen? How about a QB that makes good decisions for the most part, and can run?

Their pass rush worries me. I'm fine with pretty much everything else, but I don't trust our offensive line to keep Brady standing against a bad pass rush, let alone a good one.

Why do you keep referring to the Pats as "we". You aren't a fan of the team.

Denver has been outplayed in every game this year. They are overrated.
Pats are the best defense KC will have seen to date.
That line has given up more sacks than the Pats have

I agree the Pats' D is the best the Chiefs have faced. The problem is the Chiefs' D is the best we have faced, and our offense is completely inept. The Chiefs will be able to drop 7 and get pressure with 4. Brady is going to get hit frequently in this game. Add in the Chiefs' crowd noise to our pathetic OL, and this game is a recipe for disaster for our O. While I agree the Pats will be the best defense KC has played, I would take their O vs. our D over our O vs. their D. The ineptitude of our offense cannot be overstated. The Miami team that completely dominated our offense has given up 29 and 34 points to Buffalo and KC respectively. My point is our offense has been absolute garbage against unimpressive defenses. I don't expect them to get better against superior talent.

So you're of the mindset that NE is not going to get any better on offense? That what you've seen in weeks 1-3 is what you'll get in the future?

My opinion is that the talent level on this offense is very low, and that is not going to change.

Noted. I believe this offense will improve. I don't see the problem at the skill positions at the moment but rather on the o-line. Any offense that doesn't have time to throw or let a play develop is going to be hobbled. I don't know who's available to help (and I don't want Incognito), either.

The OL is a major problem, but overall lack of talent is as well. With the exception of a healthy Gronkowski, the Patriots skill position players consist of a bunch of guys that would get a ho-hum response in free agency. Edelman may be changing that this year, but he wasn't that highly coveted last offseason. I believe if you asked NFL defenses about the talent level of the Pats' skill guys, the responses would be consistently unimpressed. Nobody is up late worrying about how to slow down Amendola, Thompkins, Dobson, Hoo-Man, etc.
