time to play stork full time?

College awards and recognitions mean little in NFL ability. Look at the other guys who won the Rimington Trophy:

Barrett Jones
David Molk
Jake Kirkpatrick
Maurkice Pouncey
AQ Shipley
Jonathan Luigs
Dan Mozes
Greg Eslinger
David Baas
Ben Wilkerson
Jake Grove
Brett Romberg
LeCharles Bentley
Dominic Raiola

Not exactly a great list of guys, especially the recent ones other than Pouncey.

OK so then don't play him and keep the status quo and see what happens.

I'm not great at assessing individual o-line play during the live game, but even with Stork in there, weren't they still giving up some big pressures/hits/sacks? Not necessarily cause of Stork, but on Solder.

The question is which combination will likely produce better results. In all cases, we keep our 4 OT's in their present roles of LT, RT, LG and blocking TE. It is likely that Fleming will eventually get lots and lots of additional reps; but that is not the question for the next couple of weeks.

OPTION ONE
Center - Connolly
RG - Devey

OPTION TWO
Center - Stork
RG - Connolly

OPTION THREE
Center - Wendell
RG - Connolly

Not sure what the answer is up front but the Pats had best get the interior OL fixed in a hurry as some of the leagues defensive fronts are just around the corner.

We do not. But if we are willing to give Jordan I am 26-years-old and a rookie Devey a chance to start we should consider giving the draft round 2-3 graded Stanford graduate a shot.
Enough with the experimentation. Preseason is over. Put Stork in there and see if Brady is still alive at the bye week. The last thing they need now is another OT playing guard, especially when he is still learning his current role. Connolly is not the problem.

There's probably not a personnel answer to Solder's struggles. However, on both the play where Mack beat him to the outside and the play where Tuck beat him inside, Ridley was in position to help, and just released into his pass pattern. I don't know whether that's him missing an assignment or not, but the coaches better start considering giving him help on occasion.

I just hope Belicheck is done with the Devey experiment and rotating OL

either keep connoly at center and play Kline, or put stork at center.

No way to know unless you try it out. Today, Brady got up shaking his head at the OL after he got hit... again. Can you recall the last time Brady showed that kind of disapproval toward the OL in all his years? Start experimenting and find your best line-up. But Stork is our best center. He needs to start and the team needs to experiment with Connolly, Cannon, and Fleming at guard.
This is the worst O line Brady has ever had, in fact i can't remember the last time a pats O line was as bad. I think it can improve over time but i can't see it being good enough to go far into the playoffs.

IMHO, in 2013 we had a top 10 running game last year, with Connolly playing reasonably well at RG. Stork is as upgrade over our Wendell, our 2013 center. If Cannon is REALLY as good as Mankins was last year at LG, or even close, the OL should improve as they play more games.

SOLDER, CANNON, STORK, CONNOLLY, VOLLMER, (FLEMING) is a good line for the next couple of years. If Cannon goes, Fleming would replace him as a starter. I still see us adding another couple of OL's next year. Obviously, Fleming might be a starter even if we have all 6 for next season.

Next couple of years? I'd be surprised if Dan Connolly is a starter, or even on the team, next season.

I will be very surprised if Connolly is a starter next season. He could become a backup this year, if others progress. He could be brought back as a backup because of his versatility, at a reduced contract, but it's certainly not a given.

Maybe. Although it must be noted that the only time the Pats offense hasn't looked like ca-ca this year was in the first half against Miami before Wendell was knocked out of the game with injury. He hasn't played sense and the Pats have been been about as bad on offense as you can be, short of butt-fumbling.

They gave up no inside pressures.. only on the outside.

Using Devey as a starter has been a mistake from the very beginning. Likewise, not starting Cannon at guard early
in training camp was a mistake. The Patriots knew full well Mankins would not agree to a pay cut. Their best move
right now is to use Stork at center and Connelly at guard. Returning Wendell to center, when healthy, is not the answer. They should also start giving Fleming some playing time at right
tackle in case Vollmer has to replace an inept Solder. Don't use Fleming at guard because
he has never played the position.

If I never see Jordan Devey, again it will be too soon. His being on the field makes me question Belichick sanity.

Yeah and Hightower and Chung too, they're awful. Sorry, that was last year/preseason.

Carry on with the inquisition, somebody must be punished!!

Chung was not even on the team last year. Your attempts to troll are not strong lately.

I don't think Stork will start at KC next Monday. I think he will play at some point and then start from the next game on, but I would be surprised if we throw him into this very loud environment as a starter.
