time to play stork full time?

I know it's not fair, Tip...but in the 4th quarter I wanted to see somebody knock him out of the game. I can see jitters and blown assignments on the road but at home? If he just played ORDINARY the offense would have played better as a whole unit. He's a square peg.
Fair has nothing to do with it.

Just like Goodell, Devey must go (for the good of the NFL).

If Stork flounders, so be it. But he cannot be worse than Devey.

I mean, Jeezus, Kline filled in pretty well last year. He's not better than Devey???!!!

STORK was drafted to eventually be our starting center. His injury held him back. He has been eased into the lineup. He should play as many reps per game as he is able to play.

Someone posted that this isn't the entire answer.

Well, Stork should continue to improve. Adding Stork will greatly improve the left side of the line. So, Stork should result in an improvement.

We don't know what the issue is with Solder. Obviously, he has not been playing well. IMHO, he's still our best LT.

Per a Solder quote, Stork made the line calls when he was in. That's good. I was wondering whether Connolly would make them for him from the guard position.

If I was Belichick and McDaniels I would make this my starting OL:

LT- Solder
LG- Cannon
OC- Stork
RG- Fleming
RT- Vollmer

That line puts are most talented OL on the field. I would have Connolly as the primary backup and use Kline as the OL/TE when needed. I would outright cut Jordan Devey.

Connolly is just not that good at RG, which is the biggest problem with inserting Stork.

How do we know Fleming is?
We do not. But if we are willing to give Jordan I am 26-years-old and a rookie Devey a chance to start we should consider giving the draft round 2-3 graded Stanford graduate a shot.

No way to know unless you try it out. Today, Brady got up shaking his head at the OL after he got hit... again. Can you recall the last time Brady showed that kind of disapproval toward the OL in all his years? Start experimenting and find your best line-up. But Stork is our best center. He needs to start and the team needs to experiment with Connolly, Cannon, and Fleming at guard.

Stork is the starting C now. The job is his to lose.

Like maybe this is just over hopefulness but I just get the feeling if they were to make the move to Stork and Fleming ya there might be some rookie mistakes but the overall play of the line will increase.

Stork was the Center for the National Champion and Heisman Winner, also won the Best Center Award.
Fleming his sophomore year which was his first full year blocked for Andrew Luck

They have the type of pedigree you look for to have a solid line.

I have seen enough out of the UDFA T from Memphis playing G.

I think Cannon had a first-round grade at OT, illness aside, which in retrospect seems not to have been crazy. Fleming could turn out to have similar issues at guard.

None of the possible answers looks great right now.

I do not actually think Cannon has played that bad for a player 3 games into a position he has never played. Cannon is low on my list of concerns, by the end of the season I think we will all be happy with him at LG.

I would love this. Honestly it was like someone flipped a switch and everything was firing on all cylinders. Brady had time people were in position. He was able to make more than one read. And they marched down the field the way the are supposed to. I hate that it was stalled at the end but the entire drive felt like it injected life back into the team.
Play calling fell apart at the end. In McD's defense, a poor throw and drop kept second down from being a score...

College awards and recognitions mean little in NFL ability. Look at the other guys who won the Rimington Trophy:

Barrett Jones
David Molk
Jake Kirkpatrick
Maurkice Pouncey
AQ Shipley
Jonathan Luigs
Dan Mozes
Greg Eslinger
David Baas
Ben Wilkerson
Jake Grove
Brett Romberg
LeCharles Bentley
Dominic Raiola

Not exactly a great list of guys, especially the recent ones other than Pouncey.

Everyone's quick to pounce on Devey, but Cannon was the worst OL on the field today. He was consistently being driven backwards or getting turned.

It might be inexperience but it could also be that he's really a T in the NFL and not a G.

Such a battle for worst OL of the game going on today, we should have a poll.. .o_O

What makes people think that Connelly would not play well at guard? Have people seen bad plays and what were his weaknesses? I am not disagreeing, just curious.

IMHO, in 2013 we had a top 10 running game last year, with Connolly playing reasonably well at RG. Stork is as upgrade over our Wendell, our 2013 center. If Cannon is REALLY as good as Mankins was last year at LG, or even close, the OL should improve as they play more games.

SOLDER, CANNON, STORK, CONNOLLY, VOLLMER, (FLEMING) is a good line for the next couple of years. If Cannon goes, Fleming would replace him as a starter. I still see us adding another couple of OL's next year. Obviously, Fleming might be a starter even if we have all 6 for next season.
