No doubt that was either a) Edelman TD or B) Gronk TD. How can you snap the ball like that in that position?

The center was distracted. Other than that, I don't even know what to say. Long way to go for this
O-line.

We're going to win this game but it's going to feel like a loss, mostly because it looks like a loss.

I don't have a problem with the time management, we still had time to run a 3rd down play with 8 seconds left, the problem was the bad snap and the overall efficiency of our red zone offense.

I don't see ANY improvement on Offense after 2 and a half games.......

Connolly at Center ? Thought he could at least snap on target. Must be taking lessons from Aiken.

All I got is that maybe Josh is keeping all the good plays for when he feels he needs them .....

8 seconds left with 3rd down. What exactly is the problem, in your mind? It's not on the O.C. if the center screws up a snap.
The problem is that it should not have been 8 seconds left on second down, they should have managed the clock to be able to run 2 plays for the touchdown and have time for a FG.

The bad snap play was one of the better plays on the drive, at least it did not burn 20 seconds off the clock.

Would you rather they gave the Raiders the ball back with time on the clock? The clock management on that last drive was acceptable

Danny A spotted on the sidelines doing some online banking with his Ocho Stinko Bench App....

I almost went to this game today...glad I stayed home or I woulda missed all these "WTF is wrong with the Pats???" calls from my buds. Seems everyone is extremely dissatisfied with a 7 point lead at halftime.

They can't play a worse half of offensive football against THIS over matched Raiders D in the 2nd half, can they?

Because it's Oakland. You do realize who they are playing against right? The way that defense was playing early on, any competent offense would have put up a lot more than 3.

Do people forget we are playing one of, if not THE, worst teams in the league?

Stop being silly.
you know .. all you keep typing is .. "it's the raiders, it's the raiders." What does that even mean? You do realize they are on scholarship as well right? They do have professional players on that team. Nothing is a given .. The Patriots are not world-beaters ..

The bad snap play was one of the better plays on the drive, at least it did not burn 20 seconds off the clock.
It was only an OK play because of Brady. Stork needs to be playing CE and the line shuffled. The current OL is a disaster.

Oh, it's his fault Brady wasted 20+ seconds at the line on the run play and then had to handle a terrible snap now is it?
Yeah it is, he called the play to run are 3rd down RB up the gut and put the team in that situation. If you do not have problem with the offensive coordinator you should go watch the first half again.

....... do you see what Brady has do deal with?

I think the change in offensive philosophy is proving to be difficult for Brady to adjust to. I think he will get it as they stick with it but he's going from throwing all, day out of spread sets with 4-5 receivers to big sets where he doesn't throw nearly as much and only has 2-3 options. He is struggling to find a rythym and it almost looks like he's still in pre-season form.

The remainder would say the execution was faulty

No doubt that was either a) Edelman TD or B) Gronk TD. How can you snap the ball like that in that position?

no kidding because those are the only 2 options we have in the passing game...the rest of our WR suck, again, year after year. Where is KT and why was Dobson a scratch. I am losing faith in the coaching staff wrt personnel decisions

First half review:

Good:

  • Edelman has looked good per usual. Clutch catches and good YAC
  • Ridley running hard again
  • Gronk and Brady's TD was nice
  • Defense has only allowed 3 points.
Bad
  • O-line has been wildly inconsistent with more bad than good
  • Receivers not named Edelman haven't connected or been targeted by Brady
  • Bolden not making his the most of his few opportunities
  • McDaniels has questionable play calling once more

Without doubt there isn't a weaker element in this team than o-line. Not an individual on that line, but the whole damn unit.
