Roger Goodell Press Conference

Just copied my post from this thread: http://www.patsfans.com/new-england...d-this-situation-is-excellent.1111919/page-19

Oops. Didn't see the actual press conference, just read the report. That's different. Sounds like business as usual.

So I guess they didn't mention how someone disrupted the press conference shouting something about the elevator and screaming. I couldn't make out what was being said. Probably mocking Goodell. But that person pretty much summed up what I thought of that press conference. A joke!

Goodell was talking about how they always tried to do the right thing and they made a mistake. No Mr Goodell you were NOT trying to do the right thing. You didn't care about doing the right thing. All you cared about was putting more money in the owner's pocket to get an even bigger bonus this year. Go f*ck yourself Goodell, and take your 32 scumbag owners with you. Of course they support your ass. You make them a lot of money which is all the owners care about.

"This is outrageous!"

"I agree! This shouldn't be allowed to stand!"

"So I'll see you at the game this weekend?"

"Oh hell yeah. Go team!"

Let's be honest here. We claim the owners aren't acting because all they care about is money, yet the fans aren't doing anything either because all they care about is entertainment.
That's what you call hypocrisy. Unless you're going to boycott the NFL and not watch anymore of the games, it's getting harder by the day to take the phony outrage seriously.

The ratings for the NFL haven't been affected in the slightest since this happened, so maybe we should climb off our high horses about how selfish the owners are, and how they're totally lacking in morals.

When you protest by spending your Sunday afternoon watching old movies on TBS instead of football, I'll take the criticisms of the owners priorities more seriously.

If we all agree to stop watching the NFL this Sunday, I will do it. But if it's half-assed and like a poll ESPN referenced to suggest that about 85% will still watch the NFL. What's the point of me not watching? But I'd definitely do it if a large majority does it.

I don't see how he survives this.

Great speech. He should run for office.

So that's all we have to show for a week in the NFL bunker. Hmmm ... it seems The Emperor really does have no clothes.

He was noticeably rattled after a tmz reporter question. Something to the effect of you couldn't get the elevator tape but we did on first request. Then to a fluff cbs question and off the podium. Lol

I don't see how he survives this.

He survives it the same way politicians survive 25 years worth of Senate campaigns when they haven't done a single thing their entire time there. Because at the end of the day, despite all the tweets, memes, and internet *****ing, nobody really cares.

Roger Goodell: an assertively soft-spoken stuffed shirt given to the matter-of-fact perpetuation of half-truths and outright lies. A soulless, maddeningly overpaid PR puppet out to neuter football while pandering to masses of casual fans with the deepest pockets. Die, you loathsome beast! Die!

He was awful. "As I referenced in my statement..." "bringing in experts" "seeking out outside expertise"

The worst was his response to questions of (the owners name here) being a partner of the "former" ("former," because Goodell didn't mention that part most the time in regards to the female reporters questions on the investigation) fbi director's. The "former" director's investigation of the Ray Rice fiasco would certainly be influenced by this. Goodell's response, "unfortunately there is a lot of litigation in this country, (so we may have had business with this man the past. -my so many words explanation-)

Damn, you mean all my internet *****ing has no effect? OK, I guess I can pass the blame like Roger does on the FBI dude now. It's all my keyboards fault, that's it!

Iam loving how slowly people are getting tired of peter king as well. I used to respect his opinion in the past but since 2007 i have realized he is very clueless about football and just sucks up to people to get his stories..like the commisioner.

Scandals do bring politicians down. Der Fuehrer has tarnished the brand and the bad stench will follow him like like a hot turd on his shoe. The owners will eventually realize that any clown can fill this position and the most expedient way to clean the slate is to cut ties.

Honestly, the only way I can see this bringing Goodell down is if Condi Rice's allies use Roger's scandals to destroy him for the sake of helping her to get the job, or some similar situation.

Scandals rarely bring anyone down because of the complaining of people like us. Instead, they bring someone down when someone else with power will benefit, and uses that power (and their allies) to take advantage of the scandal for their own gain.

Just reality.

Condi Rice is my choice for commissioner, but she probably has too much integrity to lie and pander like Roger in pursuit of bloating the owners' coffers. A couple more major PR blows probably are needed for Goodell to finally be cut loose.

Any commissioner coming in now would want more power. The owners don't want that.

Bread and Circuses people, that's how you keep the masses appeased just ask the Romans. Worked for about 3 or 4 centuries.
