I wasn't sure if I wanted to post this because I feel like I'm badmouthing a guy who was a great part of the team, but here it is if anybody's interested in what pff has to say

Logan Mankins, LG: -3.5

Breakdown: After missing all but 10 snaps in his Buccaneer debut last week, Mankins returned for a troubling outing. Issues in both the run game and as a pass blocker defined his day as Michael Brockers, Robert Quinn and Aaron Donald each got the better of him at different points. Lowest grade for the former Patriot since his Super Bowl XLVI performance (-3.8).

Signature Play: 3Q 1:50, Mankins whiffs on Donald and gives up the inside, opening the door for a tackle that netted a 3-yard loss.

their grading is a little weird, but I think that's a negative grade
to be fair about it those guys are all pretty good

ReFo: Rams at Buccaneers, Week 2 | Pro Football Focus

I said it earlier this year. Mankins has been ugly when playing through anything the last few years. He went off with an injury at some point in week one. I'm not surprised at all.

Lowest grade since the SB.

That's why I didn't particularly care for Mankins. You can be a stud all season long, but if you can't have a good game when it matters most, you're not worth the money.

I hate players like that. Always have.

Tampa is my new home as of about 6 weeks ago. The move has come with the good: a great house at a great price and even better than expected beaches. It has come with the bad: flatness to the extreme, extreme humidity.......watching the Bucs. The only thing really holding my interest, at least so far, with the Bucs is LM. From what I saw I would concur that LM's performance at times was not good. However, to be fair, Mankins is in a new system and, as B-T-M noted, it is only one game.

Money aside, it will be interesting to see how this trade stacks up come December (how does he play, how does the Patriot OL play w/o him, how does Wright play?).

I have 4 words for you, my friend:

Ybor City Cuban Sandwiches.

.

But wait......he had one good quarter in his first game and that's what matters.

Tampa was totally suckered with this trade....totally.

Thanks Shmessy....I didn't even know of the 'Cuban sandwich' until now (your post prompted me to do some research). Really looking forward to giving it a try....

Let's not get too smug about this. While the Bucs are paying Mankins $6.25 million to whiff on blocks, the Patriots are eating $4.25 million in dead money on the cap this year. Logan is getting paid, and for all that he did here, he earned every penny. Rock on, big fella.

Love Mankins, hated to see him go but i understand why they made the deal. I wouldn't take any glee from him having a bad season. Hope he finishes his career strong, He's borderline HOF imo.

He should've sat out.

Its admirable and tough that he played with an injury, but it hurt the team.

If it hurt the team it is on the coaches, not on Mankins, he was willing to go and they believed he gave them the best shot at winning, he didn't send himself out on the field. You simply cannot get after a guy for playing through injury because there is no one better to take their place, that's a badge of honor not an opportunity to slight. One of the toughest player's to ever play for the Patriots, glad i got to watch him him play for them.

Belichick FTW

Thanks for the TE and 4th, suckers.

At this point, Wright hasn't done anything special for us either....

LM not the same player, but the guy is a warrior. I wouldn't be surprised if he was playing through some type of injury. Combined all that with the fact the Rams DL is fantastic. I can see why he had a bad day.

New system
weak surrounding cast: OL(many hobbled), QB, injured star RB
2 games verses top 5 defenses
Playing injured

Give the guy a break.

God invented them. There is no other explanation...
