I'd say that jones has already surpassed JPP, but to be fair those comparisons were made when JPP was coming off of his monster year, so saying that JPP was his ceiling was pretty much the ultimate compliment.

I think it was an apt comparison- both freak athletes with inhuman length, a ton of burst, and deceptive strength that let them play as a penetrating DT or an edge rusher. Now we just have to hope that Jones is better at staying healthy than JPP has been.

Many said Jones would be a "poor mans JPP" which means they thought he was a similar type of player but didn't have the same elite potential.

JPP had 16.5 sacks and 86 tackles in his best year. Looking at Chandler right now, I think its fair to say he could reach those same numbers or even surpass them sometime in his career. Possibly this year. Jones is going from being "pretty good" last year to being an elite game changer and potential All Pro.

I definitely agree there. I don't recall anyone saying he was a poor man's JPP (although that definitely doesn't mean it didn't happen), but anyone who claimed that was wrong. Jones is every bit the athletic freak that JPP was pre-injuries.

I expect Jones to surpass those numbers this year.

Those screenshots appear to be after Cassel started breaking away.
They're not.

He never had more than a hand on his arm.

He never had more than a hand on his arm.

I never said otherwise; Hightower is running past Cassel and has his hand grasping the front of his arm as he runs by. He had the angle that he needed to make that tackle, and he failed to make it. Cassel is nowhere near strong enough to escape if Hightower has him wrapped up, so clearly Hightower did a poor job of wrapping him up and making the tackle when he had him in his grasp, which your screenshots show even more clearly than mine did.

I'm not sure how any of that contradicts my previous points, which is that this can't be allowed to happen when he has contain responsibility. Michael Buchanan making similar mistakes is what lost us the Jets game last year, and it got him benched. Hightower won't get benched over stuff like this since he brings way more to the table than Buchanan does, but it's still a problem that needs to be corrected.

Urgh... i know it doesn't matter but did you see 55 be totally out of possition on that jet sweet chandelr jones stuffed?

I have no idea why that annoyed me so much

Was really great to see the different ways we are using our personnel to rush the passer. If we can stay healthy. I am hoping for a Breakout campaign from Hightower.
