Mike Petraglia @Trags
That Belichick presser was 27 minutes.

"Raiders Week" is like a bye week. RT @MarkDanielsPJ Belichick talked for over 26 minutes today. He was in a great, great mood.

given how jolly BB was this morning - on a Weds - won't be surprised if #patriots win 42-3 on Sunday. usually we get happy BB on Fridays

Have never heard Belichick wax about his football past Xs and Os like this ever. Just tremendous insight.

Christopher Price @cpriceNFL
Belichick usually saves Friday for this sort of historical and personal expansion. Interesting and fun stuff.

Tom E. Curran @tomecurran
Since we make mention when he sucks at the podium, Bill Belichick has given good press conference for about 2 weeks running.

I've actually noticed that this is happening more and more in recent years. It may go back further, but my memory of it begins actually after the Hernandez disaster. Everyone expected him to be close lipped, say "no comment", and move on to football talk. Instead he opened up a bit, talked about his personal stake in the situation, and got high marks in the media for appearing human.

Since then, I feel like he's opened up a bit more in general. Sure, he still has his moments with people like Bert Breer who demand percentages on Gronk's play status, but there have been more of these chipper press conferences since then. It's interesting and refreshing to me.

From what I've heard, it generally means that the team is having a good week of practice if he comes to the podium in a jovial mood. Hopefully that's the case and it's on the offensive side of the ball.

While true, they typically only have one day of practice before Wednesday morning, don't they? I have a hard time believing they were so good for one day that he's happy with the practice week already. That's why they typically see it on Friday, making this time especially odd.

I'm thinking this is a good thing if he comes up to the podium in a good mood and relaxed that must mean something is going good.

I'm just taking a stab at it. Maybe he got laid last night.

Maybe he can show up to the next PC with a shirt that says, "My Girlfriend REALLY loves her Croatian Boyfriend."

He was pretty chipper before the 2011 SB :(

I doubt they even practiced until today....usually coaches reward players with Mon and Tues off after a big win and an easier opponent coming into town the following week.

Came to mention this.

He was in a great mood then and our team got outplayed, and our coaches got outcoached.

I'd rather have him in a pissed off mood if that means he's gonna get on the coach's and players' @$$

I think the number of penalties over the first two weeks ensures that they will hear about that.

Seems far-fetched; the offense has the Junior Varsity for receivers. Basically an empty cupboard. I suspect that is why Brady was ticked; the Patriots have all this cap space and no weapons for him

Well, Steve Balestrieri has some screenshots from the All-22 that show Brady not taking advantage of open receivers not named Edelman or Gronkowski. My guess is that Brady was upset with himself.

(It's always nice to enjoy the week after a big win, isn't it?)

Got to remember the Raiders game press conference with the following exchange.

Q. Could Randy Moss play for the Patriots?

A. Why not?

Great memories!

That was a sobering article that had some good points.

There's a few more times that I saw Amendola open on Sunday and Brady doesn't even look his way.

I'll vote for Mr Kontra's explanation. He had that "the old guy's still got it" smirk on his face. Good for him!

Useless article. A little bit of knowledge is a dangerous thing and the writer doesn't have enough facts for the conclusions he makes.

I hope it isn't the first thing I thought of when I read your post.......

'Guys on farewell tours tend to be a bit looser'

I was pretty sure BB has a couple years left on his current contract, and I think he knows he shouldn't leave til he is really ready, he would miss the game too much. But you put the thought in my head.
