PFT: "TB12 Not Interested in Social Activism"

I would've liked it if Brady had said something, but I can't blame him for not wanting to get involved. It's not his job. I wonder if the other superstars that decline to speak out will get the same criticism.

I don't know about you, but I'm waiting for Tom Brady's say-so before I decide if beating my wife is wrong or not.

And it is his fault if he doesn't speak up.

First off I dont know why any of you waste anytime with Florio. He sux and he hates the Pats nothing good or fun to see there.

Secondly Florio Sux.

Lastly and most importantly Child Abuse sux and everyone in the NFL should probably speak out. I don't know what it would be like in my office if someone in the cubicle down the hall was known to have beat his child like that but I can't imagine it would be business as usual. But I do know those that put their head down and try to ignore would not be villains.

First off I dont know why any of you waste anytime with Florio.

I'm able to separate the ability to gain information from the need to lose my mind over his commentary. Doing that makes that site a valuable information tool.

Its Darin Gantt. The same guy who expected Goodell to sit in the nfl offcie waiting for the tape to delivered instead of being seen at augusta that day. That guy is the biggest hack on PFT.

God, what B.S. click bait. Lets paint a player minding his own business in a negative light because he won't give you a headline.

Where is the article calling out Forehead for not speaking up? Or any other player for that matter?

Or what about mentioning how Roddy White and Charles Barkley went out of their way to PUBLICLY ENDORSE the abuse?

Just as unbelievable and dishonest as Shank's Monday column in the Globe.

A number of years ago, Brady spent 8 days in Ghana and Uganda visiting health clinics and schools in a ONE fund initiative and has remained active in battling poverty in Africa since then. I wonder when Florio last visited an impoverished, third world nation on a benevolent mission.

He IS from West Virginia.

Tom Brady is a crappy person and I hope he's not allowed anywhere near children.

Florio has been using his site as a platform for his warped ideas on social justice for a long time now. It's no surprise that he, or his underlings, would call out Brady. The prescription for reading PFT remains the same:

Read it for the actual football information. Ignore everything else.

I read it for the funny comments.

Why haven't the Patriots released him yet?:eek::eek::eek:

Brady doesn't speak out because he is smart!!!!!

He is the QB of the Patriots, he is not a politician. Michael Jordon is/was the most bankable figure in sports. He never spoke out on any subject, ditto for Tiger Woods. No matter which side you take in any given subject, you are most likely going to irk some percentage of population, so why bother? Why hurt your own bottom line?

I have a private list of actors/ singers who have so irked me with their idiot political options that I refuse to see any movie or buy any record they put out. I know that I am not the only person who thinks this way, so if you are in the endorsement business, why risk cutting into your own bottom line by given an opinion on anything?

It's nothing personal, it's just good smart business.

Brady's a member of the union. The union should speak for him regarding his employer's actions or lack thereof, that's why he pays union dues and is one of the points of organized labor. If anything, the fact that he lent his name to the 2011 court case on behalf of the NFLPA should show that he's engaged in social/labor activism.

But, you know, clearly he must support domestic violence and child abuse.

Players required to speak + players fined for speaking = NFLPA not doing its job.

Players asked to speak out + players speaking out for a position the media doesn't like = players savaged

Brady's taking the smart way out, here, by keeping his mouth shut. It's the route that players should take for every media opportunity, required or otherwise. "I'm required to speak to the media, but I have no comment at this time." should be the only thing players ever say during the mandatory conferences, and "I'm just here to play football" should be the only thing they say when it's not a mandatory situation. Enough of that, and maybe the NFL, NFLPA and the media will start to smarten up.

Ok, that last sentence won't happen, but we've got to have hope, right?

What's more amazing is little over a year ago the pats had a much larger potential scandal on their hands than either the ravens or Vikings have and they diffused it in hours. The Ravens and Vikes should be taking notes.
