But they played average QBs.says the chicken littles forgetting that in years past guys like Jason Campbell , Dan Orlovsky, Rex Grossman, etc have looked like top 10 QBs against them.

Music to my years. With Hightower boosting the pass rush, our pass D could be Seattle good when Dennard, Browner, and Collins all come back.

They had a problem. They went out and addressed it properly. And, this is all without Browner.

There aren't that many good QBs in the NFL. We play Tannehill again, Geno Smith twice, EJ Manuel twice, and David Carr. Alex Smith and Andy Dalton are ok but not great. That leaves 6 games against good QBs: Manning, Aaron Rodgers, Andrew Luck, Philip Rivers, Jay Cutler, Matt Stafford, depending on what your standard of "good" is.

A good start for sure. Can't wait for next week.

Our pass defense will look really good if our pass rush is good.
Our pass defense will look good, but our pass rush won't matter, if our run defense is bad.

Let's hope for a year of healthy, complimentary defense and the sky is the limit.

It's MY Danny!!! You see, the secondary had been trying to cover him all camp and preseason...and now that the season is here, all these other WR's are just chumps to them. God Bless My Danny Amendola! Even when he's not playing he's the best! Go Danny! In fact, 5 mil/season is a bargain. Bill should see if he can lock him in for another three years.STEAL!!!

All I really want is a Defense that can go out and win a game rather than be the complimentary unit. Brady and the O will get their teething problems sorted.

Selfish I know, but the Patriots window is wide open in the AFC.

so you're not buying my "My Danny!" story, Aus?

No, I'm onboard with your theory. If you can shut down My Danny then you can shut down all of them. All of them...

too small sample size...but i think it will continue...revis...ryan...dennard..mccourty ect

Don't forget Browner back in 2 weeks

This sums it pretty well.
Don't get me wrong, I am happy with this stat. A good defense, stats wise, has to start somewhere. Why not start with games 1 and 2? However, the sample size is far too small to be able to proclaim the pass defense is definitely very good. I do think they will be but it isn't a certainty yet.

This secondary has a deeper capability than we have seen in many years. If we have someone marginally step up next to DM at the safety spot and the run D routinely plays well (like it did against the Vikings), the capabilities of this secondary should produce a very very nice amount of INTs this season.

Browner is back in week #5, right? So 3 weeks? Or do we get him for week #4?

Congrats to the Pats! :)

Thank you, CC...we were all walking on egg shells around here until last night

That defensive performance against the Vikings has elevated this team to my favorite since 2007.

I don't believe that Browner would qualify for an early return like some of the other suspended players.

His suspension is for the first 4 games of the 2014 season, so he'd be back for game #5.

What will happen if this D will suck really bad next week, and god forbid the whole team?
