Patriot WR options

Tom Brady is second to last in completion percentage, only Henne is worse.

And this is almost 80 attempts, lots of balls thrown and we can't just sit around and say wait for Gronk. Why can't we get a real WR not named Edelman, the rest of the guys disappear so quick it is disgusting to watch.

Um...he was just 68 percent in the last game.

It was a great win, I just don't understand why people think Gronk will get back to 2011 form, it might not ever happen.

There's was nothing at all wrong with 2013 form.

Even if Edelman is better than Sanders, who do we have that compares to Demaryius Thomas? Whom do we have that compares to Wes Welker?

Gronk was just as dominant in 2013. He was on fire when he came back.

Average 52 and 67.7, you get 60% by rounding up. Does Tom now have to get over 70% to make you happy??

Maybe Belichick is simply using Gronk in a more reserved manner at the beginning of the season?
I think that's a serious possibility.

We've been saying forever that we don't want to lean entirely on Gronk all season, because that gets him injured, and an injured Gronk has cost us at least 1 more Superbowl, and maybe 3.

I'd be perfectly happy with us not completely unleashing the Gronk at the beginning of the season. Big 3rd downs, this play, that play, but I want him there for December, January, and hopefully February.

Reggie Wayne would be a nice option but I think he just wanted to stay in Indy. He could help coach up Kenbrell who has similar size and talent as Reggie Wayne. For now I say Denarius Moore is the winner. He is nearly 6'1 and shows every skill you look for in a #1. Explosive, extremely sharp ice cold route runner. Catches the ball in stride and turns up field explosively and fluidness. Makes high pointing deep and sideline acrobatic look effortless. Sterling Sharp said no cornerback could cover him one on one if he had a franchise QB to get him the ball. Sterling Sharp liked many WRs to break out like Marshall, Antonio brown, jordy nelson and even called the shot on Steve smith and Joe horn before they made pro bowls. Everybody thought he was nuts with Horn when he said Saints got a bargain on a WR about to become elite. Sharp firmly believes Moore will be great with a good qb and coach. Watch his highlights and you'll see what Sharp does. Runs routes sharp and explosive, backs dimply can't stay with him. Has explosive extra gear, and can catch in stride and turn upfield in a flash. And he highpoints acrobatic catches effortless. Many times he was open long before the QB threw his way. With Brady throwing him the ball he would awesome. I like his raw talent better than Emmanuel Sanders. Best of all Bill can get him for a Round4 pick. Gives Brady a more experienced explosive WR who would very likely contribute in first couple games.

Aaron Dobson was selected ahead of Keenan Allen.

There's your problem right there,.

If Keenan Allen would have come here he would be out of football right now. Guy was on the verge of quiting after Week 1 last year.

if you are talking just WR's then no one but there are only maybe 4 WR's better then Thomas in NFL so I think you need to get over it and move on they should have signed Steve Smith in the offseason and not Lafell who got the same money as Lafell but it is what it is

he cant be 100% that's why they are using him so little IMO right now he looks like Ben Coates in his last year as a pat big slow and cant get open

He would never have quit football, he knows where the sure $$ is. Besides Patriots needed rookie WRs to step up. WoW, he wasn't even that into football but still had more yards, ypc and touchdowns than any patriot WR.

Does anybody think this offensive performance will beat the elite teams in the playoffs much less championship. Not getting 4 ints and blocked punt and TD every game. Or even all the sacks. The offense must put points up at some point and 60% completion isn't good in today's NFL.

Bro, it's week two, bro. Step away from the computer, shoulder shrug some 100s and chill out.

Bro.

As is the case every year other than 2007, the passing game of the patriots is just not good enough for posters.

Amendola is underperforming. Edelman is over-performing. Dobson is about what folks expected, and has been hampered by injuries.

Amendola is a great disappointment because we paid too much. He is still a valuable slot receiver.

RECEIVING OPTIONS (6)
Edelman, Dobson, Amendola, Gronkowski, Vereen, Wright

ADDITIONAL OPTIONS (2)
LaFell, Thompkins (neither is a better slot receiver than DA; one or both can be active)

Clearly, Belichick sees more in LeFell than many posters. In any case, he is the 6th or 7th receiving option for Brady. I would not be surprised to see Thompkins active instead of LeFell in some games.

AVAILABLE IF WE WANT (3)
Boyce, Tyms, White (I don't see any of these being active)

MY VIEW
Belichick did OK with the additions of LeFell and Wright. This set of receiving options is better than last year, especially given how many were injured for long periods last year. Also, this group is plenty good enough to win it all.

In the end, we need to have a much improved defense to expect to win it all. We need to be better than Top 10 as we were last year. It seems that we have a great opportunity to do just that.

I do not understand that rational at all, that insinuates that Mike McCoy is better than Belichick at player management.

How daft are you? Take out the OLine completely ****ting the bed and McDaniels deciding to go pass heavy and Brady is probably at 68% right now.

So having a good defense won't help an offense? That's odd I thought that's what everyone was screaming for. If Seattle didn't have a good defense they wouldn't have made it to the SB or won it.

I was saying they aren't going to play a terrible qb and oline in disarray every week and get 4 hints and 5 sacks. At some point they have to protect Brady with 5 lineman, not 6. And the Oline needs to learn to protect Brady with 5 while WRs get open quicker and more consistently if we want to win against the better teams in the playoffs and superbowl.

Gronk is great but when was last time he was available and at his best for the patriots final game which they lost. He was limping in the Superbowl. At some point the injuries take a toll on quickness and athleticism
