You sanctimonious, hypocritical loser......

"......There is one final member of the Patriots’ holy trinity who could answer some questions about the NFL’s decaying image and his approval of all things Goodell. Bob Kraft went on the airwaves of user-friendly CBS early last week to talk about the swell job Goodell’s been doing. He rejected a pair of Globe interview requests during the awful week and yours truly didn’t have any luck Sunday when I took the charge in the hallway outside the winner’s locker room.
What about it, Bob? Any comment on this past week in the NFL?
CBS’s “Master Kraftsman” never broke stride in those nifty “Owner’s Model” Nikes he’s been wearing.
“No,’’ was all he said.
That was it. We had a nice Patriots victory and great television ratings as the worst week in NFL history came to a close."

Yet you, Mr. John Henry Employee, work at the very same TV network with Jerry Remy - - - someone who, for YEARS, personally enabled his own son to abuse SEVERAL women and men by running interference with the authorities and begging the victims to keep quiet. It took MURDERING his granddaughter's mother to stop him. The day before the murder, Jerry Remy and his wife CONVINCED THE VICTIM NOT TO EXTEND A RESTRAINING ORDER AGAINST HIS ROIDED UP MONSTER OF A SON. You've been in the very same press box and studio with this man several months this year and have never opened your mouth about that situation except to write that it is an "unusual" and "awkward" situation. Why don't you hound him, surely he was more deeply involved in Jared and Jennifer's situation than Bob Kraft was in Ray and Janay's or Adrian and the 4 year old child.

Yet you hound Bob Kraft, who had nowhere near the connection with the Ray Rice or Adrian Peterson transgressions that Jerry the Enabler did with Jared's, just so you could continue your Red Sox Jihad against the Patriots?

Here's how Shank ended a column about Remy a few months ago:

"Jerry Remy is a local legend. He is a former All-Star, a guy who got a hit off Rich Gossage in the ninth inning of the 1978 AL East playoff game. He is the RemDawg. He has a chain of restaurants. He is president of Red Sox Nation. Now, once again, he is a broadcaster.
But he is also a son and a husband and an uncle and a grandfather and a father.
Those are the most important jobs.
And the hardest jobs."

Shank: 'Our society needs to get its pound of flesh out of Bob Kraft for this. He must answer for Ray Rice and Adrian Peterson. But he's evil, so I'll go back to having another beer with my friend and colleague, Jerry, who's been going through a tough time'.

Pathetic.

This is really terrible, even by the lamentable standards of the CHB. Thank you for your rant!

Shank is a regular on Zo & Gresch weekly, and that is when I change the channel... he is beyond boring and self righteous, with his monotone dictatorial view of all things right in his world... he really believes he is right about everything....

The nicest changes in Boston Sports is that at one time most of the writers were deified and put on pedestals(McDonough and Gammons). The current crop are bottom feeders in sewage treatment plants, now the power lies with very good coaches.. this extends beyond Middlesex County as in RI we have Bill Reynolds another fossil from bygone days who revels in anything the Pats do not do perfectly..

writers now days have turned into teenage girls everything they do and say is full of Drama to get attention

You may not like him but Shank's right about Big Daddy Kraft. The Patriots owner pulled out a G. Bush-sized, 'Brownie's do a great job (on Katrina)' spin job when he said Goodell's handling of the Rice affair was "excellent." There are two explanations available for Goodell's botched procedure regarding Rice - ineptitude or cover-up. Neither one fits "excellent." The swinging seventies bachelor that he's become may look fondly upon Goodell's mess, but the previous Kraft living with his late wife would never have stooped to such tone-deaf puffery.

I fully agree that Kraft's answer that morning was tone deaf and the wrong the to say. I even wrote right here on this forum something to the effect of 'Can't someone take him away on a vacation for a few weeks to an island with no telecommunications'.

However, the LEVEL of obfuscation that Kraft showed there is MINISCULE compared to the ACTIVE enabling for over 20 years of Shank's fellow employee which he has subsequently written about with kid gloves.

It's not even close. If you can't understand that glaring difference, that's your problem.

He's a typical Boston rube engaged in full time cronyism. I don't know why anyone would read his **** at this point.
He is beyond that, shank is a vile POS. After reading how Rem the enabler got his air bandit son out of so many jams for so many years i can not even bare to look at him. And for the shank to call out kraft (who i think should have kept his mouth shut) but not remy is obscene. I haven't watched or listened to The Shank in years, but i would if someone called him out on this just to see him squirm

Someone in the media should call him out on this. The hypocrisy of what he wrote is eggregious.

Sadly, the criticism of Kraft is completely deserved. And then Belichick adds to the crap storm by saying he has a lot of personal respect for Adrian Petersen and Ray Rice in yesterdays press conference. UGH!!

So BB can't praise AP/RR the player?

"HAS a lot of personal respect for.... " ????

Do you understand the English language?

His exact words on the subject from the postgame press conference.

“It’s certainly unfortunate. I’ve HAD (emphasis mine) a lot of personal respect for Adrian and Ray, and the whole situation is really unfortunate for the events of what happened, but we all know that it so it’s an unfortunate situation.
Well, I think we need to do what we always do, and that’s take care of our job and do our job and try to do it well. And that’s what we’ll focus on and continue to focus on. We really can’t control anything outside of what we do and we just have to do the best we can and leave all those other things to the process and so forth.”

Regarding the "have/had" question, you can hear Belichick's response to that question here:

http://www.patriots.com/media-cente...e-played/4f6a8d08-0082-4c17-8726-840600998359

He starts at the 8 minute mark. It doesn't help that he kind of mumbles right after he says either "I've" or "I have." Then he either says "had" or it's just a pause before says "a lot of personal respect." I heard it as "I've had..." but that's just my take.

"I've had" = up until this point.

Is that a possibility?

Shmessy, you should e-mail this to Shank. He might respond.

I actually think you are everyone is being too kind. He is almost as bad when he is vomiting on the page about the Red Sox.

CHB actually plagiarized a small part of a post I wrote several years ago on another forum. So I can understand why Bob Kraft, who by all accounts is a pretty good guy, would not want to be interviewed by this guy.

Notice that CHB doesn't really write competently about any actual sport, like Bedard or Edes, who at least try to understand what is going on. CHB should have been fired form the Globe a long time ago. His main contribution to sports is that he has an iconic nickname given to him by a player not wrapped too tight.

I know he most definitely would.

But no thanks. Last time I emailed him about 10 years ago, he called me from the press box of the Seattle Mariners while I was trying to watch the opening night of the Patriots 2004 season. I was holding my then 9 month old daughter and he spent 20 minutes arguing and swearing. I asked him to tone down the language and he asked "Who are YOU, the Mormon Tabernacle Choir?" I told him that it was HE who was calling someone's private home (he had dared me to "be a man" and give him my phone number) cursing while I was holding my infant daughter and that if he had a modicum of respect he would show some civility. He grumbled an apology and told me how he appreciated me reading his work, that he hoped I continue to write him feedback and that he'd be happy to email back and forth with me anytime. I declined the invitation. I haven't emailed him ever since. It's not as if he has matured any.
