I can only assume this means that Collins is good to go.

Unfortunately, it means that Collins won't be playing--but I shared your thoughts as well earlier.

In your defense I doubt you were looking for it.. .:p

No, I mean the all out cutting of Darius Fleming. I thought that he was our 4th LB and would be contributing on the outside.

Skinner was atrocious on the Vikings' opening drive and thankfully disappeared from the rotation after that.

Yeah, Skinner didn't look too hot in his debut.

Makes me wonder how bad Fleming could've been? LOL

Who needs Mister Anderson, or Darius Fleming, or Steve Beauharnais, or anybody else at all
when we have...Deonte Feckin Skinner?

he made this squad by the skinner of his teeth...

Skinner was the starter and played as often as we were in the base defense.

He actually only played in one particular scheme where Jones was at 3-4 RDE and Hightower was at 3-4 OLB, otherwise he did not play in the other bases we employed.

I think Fleming is more of an edge type.

Interesting quote by BB - maybe instead of Skinner or Fleming Ebner will be the Pats a inside coverage linebacker in likely passing situations...

“Nate had almost no defensive experience at Ohio State. He’€™s adapted in a relatively short amount of time€“ going into his third year so it’€™s really two-plus years ‘€“ adapted very well to the knowledge of our defense, to the understanding of opponents’€™ offenses, to instinctiveness and reading and recognition at a position that he plays right in the middle of the field, which is among the most difficult, inside linebacker and safety where the volume and the number of things that can happen are the greatest, where you have to really see everybody on the field, all 11 guys. His development has really been outstanding.”

Yeah, no doubt.

I think that was pretty much the basis for their decision (IMO), to choose an inside guy over the edge/outside type.

Yeah once Collins is back I think that Skinner will get taken behind the barn and shot.

I think Ebner is a great developmental prospect and would love to see them continue to work him at that hybrid SAF/LB position. Good read thanks for sharing.
