I would not have thought that I would EVER have said these words regarding Revis.....especially when he played for the despicable Jests.....but NOW he is OUR guy.....and today he showed that he STILL has the stuff to be a top tier CB in this league and will FORCE opposing DC to game plan AROUND him.......Congrats on your first pick here Mr. Revis.....and here's to hoping your great play will continue. ...so you can be here for a LONG TIME! GO PATS!

First INT of many to come this year (and future years)

Does this mean Belichick "used" him right?

Yes, he was in press and on one guy all over the field, and ironically it wasn't Patterson but Jennings. Still haven't figured that one out yet.

I don't think Cassel has yet either.

He shut down Jennings catching the ball from Cassel. Let's hope he shuts down more dynamic WRs catching from the franchise QBs the same way he did Jennings. Logan Ryan was very impressive covering Patterson. Cassel was the QB however He still looked in control of Patterson even when he made a catch he didn't look confident as he seemed to feel Logan Ryan was
Locking him down.

I think he matches up much better against the more physical type of receivers. In this case, super speedy guys like Wallace and Patterson may not be the best choice to line him up one vs one with no other help behind him.

Looking at our schedule… I think Revis can shut down the following:

  • Anyone on the Raiders
  • Dwayne Bowe
  • AJ Green
  • Eric Decker x2
  • Demaryius Thomas
  • Reggie Wayne
  • Jordy Nelson
  • Keenan Allen

Verdict is still out on Sammy Watkins, but he looked pretty good today.

Brandon Marshall is 50/50. Revis has played him tough before and had a great end zone INT against him not too long ago, but it will be a battle. He might be lined up on Alshon Jeffrey though.

Can't say either way on Mike Wallace after last week.

Megatron isn't getting shut down 1 on 1 by anyone, especially under todays NFL rules.

Opposing OC is forced to game plan around him, opposing DC wishes he could have Revis Island.

No disrespect intended but Revis is 29 years old, has consistently played high caliber CB defense for 5+ straight seasons, and has been paid/has been offered top dollar from a wide sample of teams throughout the NFL. While anything is possible, why would you seriously doubt he wouldn't play high caliber CB defense for the Patriots??

Revis ran the route better than the WR on the INT. Talib can not do that.

My theory going in was that you want multiple defenders in the vicinity of Patterson if he were to catch the ball, as opposed to putting him on an island where he's one catch and one missed tackle away from outrunning everybody else to the end zone.

No love for Logan Ryan, our guy we drafted. He has great chance to be a starting top flight #2 cornerback. He even intimidated Patterson at times it seemed and ran right with him effortlessly. He definitely plays faster than his 40 time. He had awesome 3cone as well. He is about 6'0 and is said to be 203 lbs now. He is physical, great ball skills, flashes on the scene and has really good recovery speed. And he is a very hard worker at improving his talent and craft. If you recorded the game check it out and follow Logan Ryan how he ran with Patterson and made up ground with his great makeup speed. When he intercepted the pass he should have told Patterson that's why Bill didn't want you, so he could draft Logan Ryan. I'm as excited over his potential as any young patriot player including Collins and Dobson

Revis is a hometown hero where I live in both high school and college, so I've been following him for years.

It was very nice to see an aggressive defense that was causing havoc and getting the ball back. Let's hope it continues.

I don't understand why people are confused. Patterson is an awful NFL Wide Receiver and Revis would be absolutely wasted matching up on him, Greg Jennings is the player he should be on.

Every yard Patterson gains is from end arounds and kick returns, he offers absolutely nothing as a route runner.

Jennings is the best WR on the Vikings.

Is Revis injured? He did not get up after sticking his shoulder in on a tackle in the quarter, and I do not remember seeing him back on the field after that. Any word about that?

Revis is great and I honestly think the Miami game would have went better for us defensively anyway if he covered Hartline all game instead of Wallace. Hartline and Stevie Johnson are ridiculously crafty and should be covered with elite corners despite their lack of speed and size.

what I thought was impressive about his interception was that he ran the EXACT route jennings was running, and actually did it better to come up with the interception.
