But look at this team with a playoffs view.

It's week 2. There have been teams that looked far, far worse through two weeks and ended up winning the Super Bowl. In fact, such teams beat the Patriots in their last two Super Bowl appearances. The 2001 and 2003 Patriots were two such teams. Relax.

Extremely disappointed with the offense and penalties. Lots of playmaking on D and ST. Though the 1st TD allowed was atrocious. Revis is freaking awesome! BB often talked about how he would run the receiver's route before the receiver makes his cut. Look at that! Amazing! He should play wide receiver!:D
You know what...I would LOVE to see a handful of plays for Revis on offense...he is on the right team to make that happen!

We all knew that Jones in the right role could be an All-Pro caliber player in his 3rd year. I'm more excited about Hightower. For a 1st round pick, Hightower was bordering on dissapointment his first two years. He looks like he finally found his role as a 3-4 OLB.

Our 2012 1st round could potentially net the pats an All-pro pass rusher and another solid pass rusher. All of us would have loved such a scenario prior to the 2012 draft.

As i said i am not getting to high or low. But i personally don't worry about game to game. It's more just how the team is coming together with a view to January. That's all my comments were in reflection of. Believe me, other than during the game, I am quite relaxed about this team.

wait a minute, so the sky isn't falling after all?

great team win in all 3 phases. looking forward to seeing this team gel.
this Pats Defense shined in the spotlight. Can't wait to see more of the same!

That was the team I was looking for last week. That was the team I love to watch. That is the team that is gonna to win.

Chris Jones and Sealver Siliga really helped solidify the DL today. Vellano used Less = Success

Jones was not disappointing in either of the last 2 years. He just hasn't really been "ahead of the curve." Progressing at a normal speed isn't a bad thing.

I was referring to Hightower.

So what'd you all think of that Easley INT? ;)

To be honest, I would have preferred that Bill and Tommy Kelly could have worked something out as he would have been a perfect 34 DE to compliment the DL rotation. Such is life.

Kelly looked very bad as a 3-4 player in Oakland and that was a few years and a major knee surgery ago. While he is likely better than Vellano, claiming he would be "a perfect 34 DE" is a curious claim. He's always been a 3-technique UT who is better at shooting gaps than playing 2-gap or being stout in the run game.

I think Vellano being a turnstile has warped people's view of Tommy Kelly's abilities. That or, because of the limited amount he played last year, people just don't know his skillset.

For some reason you haven't paid attention to the point of the post @mcmurtry86, to compliment the DL rotation.

Cam Newton didn't seem to have any trouble getting the ball to Brandon LaFell. It takes two to tango and I think the QB has to shoulder some responsibility for the Pats' inconsistency in the passing game. If the passing game only succeeds with absolute perfection on every route, then maybe it's time to rethink the approach to the passing game.

If Develin has 2 catches, Hoomanawanui has 1 catch, and Dobson who has basically only been practicing for 2 weeks has 1 catch, I really do not see any excuse for Amendola or LaFell to go without a catch. Wright is still learning the offense.

I do. The Pats only threw the ball 22 times with only 15 completions. They ran, primarily, 2 WR/2RB or 2WR/2TE sets for most of the game. That puts Lafell and Amendola on the bench with Dobson, Edelman, Gronk on the field.

If the guys don't get a lot of reps, they can't be expected to make a lot of catches, now can they?

OH, and the pass to Amendola should have been a completion based on the pass that Cassel threw later in the game where they called "PI" on Logan Ryan when, in actuality, it should have been on the WR who ran into him and then tripped him up as Ryan was trying to make the tackle.

Actually, they got plenty of snaps...88 for LaFell Dobson and Amendola with 1 reception.

WIDE RECEIVER
Julian Edelman -- 52 of 67
Brandon LaFell -- 38 of 67
Aaron Dobson -- 31 of 67
Danny Amendola -- 19 of 67

Tannehill is better than mediocre, and he has good WRs. The secondary isn't the defensive issue, the lack of speed in the linebacking corps is more disconcerting. But they seem to have adjusted to that after the first drive in this game where it really got exposed.
Hightower isn't very agile, but he has a very good straight line speed. Mayo is fast and Collins is a speed demon. The issue with the LBs is not speed, it is depth.

inactivating Kenbrell THompkins was a mistake IMO especially after he-brady had shown chemistry last week against Miami.

I prefer edelman, dobson, thompkins as your 3 wide receivers than having lafell/amendola
