Vikings RB Adrian Peterson indicted for child abuse; deactivated for Pats game at Minnesota

I have a 4 year old and a 8 year old both can be quite a handful my 4 year old can be Incredibly aggressive sometimes hurting older kids he loves ninjas and thinks he is one.
As well he likes to say he is the boss or your not the boss of me he is incredibly smart and strong willed and will pry be a engineer or something at some point but he is like I said incredibly frustrating at times that being said I would never do to either of my sons what Adrian Peterson did to his kids.
I was punished with a switch paddle fist open hand anything you can imagine doesn't mean as a parent you follow suit.

According to Deadspin, he's been deactivated for Sunday. That's so sad.

Edited: Nick Wright says those photos are at least a week old, too.

Anyone who says they were abused as a kid so they don't see what's wrong with it now makes me really wonder if they were abused. As someone who was well and truly beat as a kid I can't ever imagine inflicting that on my own. This whole thing makes me sick and really has me questioning whether I'll be watching anymore NFL anytime soon.

Actually, it is the defense Peterson's lawyer is now taking.

Just saw this as well.

imagine what those wounds looked like before they had a chance to heal up. who hits a four year old with a stick hard enough to draw blood. you can still see some scabs. poor kid. what a piece of garbage peterson is.

The child’s injuries reportedly included cuts and bruises to the child’s back, buttocks, ankles, legs and scrotum, along with defensive wounds to the child’s hands. According to the report, Peterson texted the boy’s mother and acknowledged what he had done and that she would be “mad at me about his leg. I got kinda good wit the tail end of the switch.”

Peterson also allegedly texted the child’s mother that he “felt bad after the fact when I notice the switch was wrapping around hitting I [sic] thigh. . . . Got him in nuts once I noticed. But I felt so bad, n I’m all tearing that butt up when needed! I start putting them in timeout. N save the whooping for needed memories!”

Hey, guys, just popping in to see if we have anybody mouthbreathers here who are defending this. And of course we do.

A small minority.

Eh, it's the internet. Every online community has a token handful of people who will defend literally any action.

Cops: The 4-year-old boy told his mother that Adrian Peterson "likes belts and switches" and "has a whooping room.

That sounds like the sort of thing that would have raised eyebrows 50 years ago, and indeed would probably have been disapproved of under the (then somewhat rarer) circumstances that the kid was just a visitor at his father's house.

It's way out of line now.

And I'm already at the point where I'd be quite surprised if all the "We're hearing mainly from the accusing side so far" considerations were enough to completely exonerate him.

Yeah which is what I find so concerning because he has already lost one child, and now it appears that another child is in some type of harms way.
his son was kills by his baby mamas boyfriend that's why i think its crazy that he would even let anyone put a hand on his kids never mind do it him self i hope its not true

Obviously happy for us (and our chances Sunday) but what a clusterf*ck of a situation. Hope Peterson takes some accountability for his actions and really hope his kid isn't scarred from this.

My dad used to spank me and every once in awhile when we were really bad he had a belt he called bite biter. I never felt abused and I grew up to be respectful and understand breaking rules have consequences. I have a 6 year old now that I used to smack on the butt to get his attention so I believe that sometimes you do have to resort to physical with very young children. That said I have not smacked my son in over a year as he is now old enough to talk to and if those pictures are legit what AP did is so above and beyond I am sick to my stomach.
