Vikings RB Adrian Peterson indicted for child abuse; deactivated for Pats game at Minnesota

Not a good week for the NFL to begin with and now their poster boy RB gets indicted on injury to a child

They should make Vereen the Poster child of the NFL!

Idiotic on multiple levels:

1) What does that teach the child?

2) You trust EVERY PARENT just because they are a parent? What if the parent is a complete psychopath? They have the right to hit their kid just because they procreated?

3) Ground the kid. Take away their electronics. How about TALK to the kid? (unless the parent is a complete imbecile and doesn't know how to mold their own child with his/her words or example).

Resorting to force against a small child is done because of the absence of a working brain.

I trust the parents in most cases rather than the government. Look, i said "reasonable" discipline is ok.

Ground the kid? Take away the electronics? Lol, if your kid were smart there are easy ways around that.

good news for us!:D we might stand a chance against the vikings.

As much as we all want justice, business is good for this pathetic TMZ network...I can't help but wonder if they now feel they are a vigilante for NFL justice.

It's a relief that TMZ is looking into this, much better than, say, the commissioner's office

I never thought I would ever write this:

In 2014, TMZ is a far more respected entity than the Commissioner of the NFL.

(See? There may be hope for you, yet, Rosie Ruiz!)

There'll be some who'll claim that being an NFL player is like any other occupation, and that there is good and bad in everything. That just isn't true in the case of the NFL.

I worked in two different companies for twenty years each, one private and one public, and I can count the amount of lawbreakers we had with one hand in those 40 years. Welcome to the new NFL, where we get to see that many in one week.

The only group worse might be our elected politicians.

So you work with 20 year olds who never had anyone tell them "No," and were just handed a couple million dollars? :)

He didn't do anything but spank his kid with a tree branch or stick. Imo it's no big deal.
I disagree for several reasons, but damn you should be allowed to post on a football site without dislikes or disagrees. Hell, what do you disagree with, that he feels that way? :)

Tweet earlier today from Adrian Peterson:

"People understand that if you are on God's course and suppose to have that position and man decides to remove you know that God will remove everyone to place you rightfully! You matter!"

"Its your season! Weapons may form but won’t prosper! God has you covered don’t stress or worry!"

That any adult should EVER beat an 11 year old child with a branch or a stick!

That's what.

It says a lot that, although you were being half sarcastic, I feel the same way and only a quarter sarcastic. :)

Wow, LOL I got hit with a lot more than a switch when I was a kid.

First off, a tHere is an old saying, "you can indict a ham sandwich!" It's a one sided presentation of just the absolute basic elements you need to say that a crime has been committed. The defense is not present and most of the time they don't even know that an investigation is even occurring.

This is going to end up being a non story.
Anytime someone is indicted by a GRAND JURY, it's a big story.

OK folks, this is blowing up: 4 year old boy.

http://minnesota.cbslocal.com/2014/09/12/adrian-peterson-indicted-for-child-abuse/

".....Sports Radio 610 in Houston obtained a draft of the police report which says Peterson admitted that he did, in his words, “whoop” one of his children last May while the boy was visiting him in Houston.

When the 4-year-old boy returned to Minnesota, his mother took him to a doctor. The police report said the boy told the doctor Peterson had hit him with a branch from a tree....."

Gonna complain about "dislikes" or "disagrees" now?

That any 200 pound adult should EVER beat an 11 year old child with a branch or a stick!

That's what.

Not arguing that. Does TB12 have a right to post here? You are a staff member. Your dislikes and disagrees have weight beyond what reasonable people (I include you) would think they should. Besides, was the "switch" a part of the story then? (Hey, it might have been. I'm asking. Oh, I did not say TB12 was sane, I said he has a right to be crazy. :))

Photographs obtained from the Houston police report showed pictures of the injuries.
