Vikings RB Adrian Peterson indicted for child abuse; deactivated for Pats game at Minnesota

This was no joke. The only laughing matter is our run defense and Peterson is a scumbag, if this report is true.

Well, until I hear what actually happened and the evidence, I will reserve judgement. But if he is guilty of the charges no matter what he did, he is a scum bag. Those charges are probably not for not changing a diaper in a timely manner.

Sounds easy to say because we play the Vikings next - but I don't think he should be allowed to play Sunday
While an indictment is far from a conviction, given the week the NFL has had I would be inclined to agree with you.

Yeah which is what I find so concerning because he has already lost one child, and now it appears that another child is in some type of harms way.

His son was killed by his ex's boyfriend. Peterson had nothing to do with that, but that doesn't mean he isn't almost as bad. We will have to see what he did - allegedly.

That is kinda harsh, without knowing all the details.

As long as we don't know the details, we shouldn't say stuff like he should be suspended and honestly the game on Sunday is a rather trivial matter compared to a potential child abuse.

If he is guilty, I hope he rots in jail and I'll never have to see his face on TV or anywhere again. Abusing a child is probably the worst thing that anybody can do IMO.

Read the story, he did not even have a relationship with the child.

Honestly, the fact that it is likely another one of his children is worse than it being the same one in my opinion, because he did not take care of the one that was killed and now this other child is being abused.
That's the son he didn't even know he had, so as much as it was a tragic situation, I can't really blame him for much that happened. Ya he was a little negligent and irresponsible, but that hardly puts him in exclusive company.

The difference in this indictment is night and day. This isn't a situation where someone else is abusing his son. He is the one accused of being the abuser.
Maybe he should consider a vasectomy.
I think a whole bunch of these athletes should consider vasectomies.

Vasalgel is going to be great for athletes and just terrible for groupies

Anyone with some legal experience speak up about what "reckless or negligent injury to a child" might entail?

To me that reads not as "child abuse" but as contributing to the injury of a child by your negligencesuch as leaving your cocaine out where your child can get into it.

HOLY CRAP.

What the hell is happening?

Enough. I'm completely sick of this kind of thing.

There'll be some who'll claim that being an NFL player is like any other occupation, and that there is good and bad in everything. That just isn't true in the case of the NFL.

I worked in two different companies for twenty years each, one private and one public, and I can count the amount of lawbreakers we had with one hand in those 40 years. Welcome to the new NFL, where we get to see that many in one week.

The only group worse might be our elected politicians.

They are saying he beat the kid with a 'switch'....what is a switch in America???

Considering what he went through last season this is bizarre if confirmed.
