I am not sure this has been posted. But this is a very solid read along with Gif's. Credit for this should go to u/madison54 on r/patriots.

Really interesting look at the OL. I disagree RE Brady with "no pressure" seeing as even in his examples of brady throwing with "no pressure" he was hit as soon as he threw 2/3 times.

Really shows what a horrible game Devey had. Both run and pss blocking. RG is a real trouble spot for us it seems.

Whilst not being always correct (i.e saying Amendola rarely sees the field even tho he had 2nd most snaps of any WR vs Miami). It is a good read IMO.

Nice find.. very in-depth analysis. Wonder if the guy gets paid for doing this, if not... wow.

It's quite sad that an outsider sees just how awful Wendell and Devey are, yet the coaching staff continues to trot both of them out onto the field. I am surprised by his take on Connelly who I thought was at the very least a serviceable starter at center.

On the defensive side my only takeaway is that the 3-4 should be gutted and the number of zone calls need to be lessened. The personnel in the secondary is better suited to press coverage which they should use more of.

Wow, the feel this guy has for our team is uncanny...

If anyone missed it he mentioned how our D made a halftime adjustment from playing a hybrid 3-4 to a traditional 3-4...and neither our DL or LB playing like they were comfotable with the latter

Great breakdown on our OL.

One of the best, objective breakdowns about our team I've ever read.

Good lord that's in depth! I mean I'm obsessed with the Pats and read the boards every day like a freak but I feel like telling this guy to get a life ;)

great post, my favorite or most alarming quote is " In fact, most of the defensive linemen were doing a great job until the adjustments during the half limited them to a traditional 3-4 look that they seem unprepared to work with."

Wow. Those .gifs of Devey's "blocking" are downright embarrassing. I'm a homer but I can't fathom what they see in the guy.

And another testimonial added to the defensive collapse debate:

In the second half, the Patriots switched largely to a two-gap 3-4 front instead of the hybrid defense they were employing early on. Removing Wilfork, Jones and Ninkovich from one-gap duties didn’t suit the Patriots well and the dominant play that Wilfork put together early in the game. In fact, most of the defensive linemen were doing a great job until the adjustments during the half limited them to a traditional 3-4 look that they seem unprepared to work with.

This is a great article, thanks for posting. I love reading this sort of in-depth analysis.

I think Patricia dropped some crumbs from the slice of pizza he was eating on the snapshots he was looking at and thought the crumbs were extra men on the Dolphins OL and made adjustments based on that.

Thank you OP.

I enjoyed that. Did Revis really have a "great game" last week?

His analysis is not anything most of us didn't see. We don't have the horses to run a two gapping 3-4 up front. Further, there is not a single instance in which Jones should be two gapping. You're basically taking his abilities as a pass rusher and flushing them right down the ****ter simply for the sake of employing a scheme, fit be damned.

Love the play diagram with the gif underneath.
Also, it is littered with refreshing opinions of Patriots players re: Ninkovich, Dobson, Thompkins, Lafell. viewed from outside of the Patriots' fanbase and especially Brady.

I agree with you. The question is: Why did BB/Patricia think otherwise?

He had a solid one. But not a great one but any stretch. How much of that was due to the coaching staff misusing him in off man and zone situations is up for debate. Revis should almost always be playing press. He's, by far, at his best when he can get his hands on the opposing WR at the LOS. That play where Wallace ran right by him like he wasn't even there, for example, is when he was playing in off man coverage. Luckily for the Pats, the throw was off. Otherwise, Miami could have hung a 40-burger.

Maybe they smoked some crack before drawing up the game plan? I'm honestly not sure.

The must've been a labor of love to write. Even reading it wasn't easy.

Only a passing reference to Edelman. After stating he is one of the two important receivers, he didn't elaborate. He spent a paragraph on Amendola. I'm not nitpicking his analysis, I just would've enjoyed to hear what the strategy should be to deal with him.

Revis looked a little rusty but he saw limited pre season game action.

He was burnt on a TD bomb, but Wallace stepped out of bounds negating the play and then covering Wallace in the end zone Revis knocked the pass down and it hit Wallaces knee and bounced into his hands for a TD.

That's the type of game it was.
