Greg Cosell on Brady........

So, edelman was nine feet ahead of two defenders, one of whom was coming at an angle from the right, so he could definitely see the ball. Edelman stopped, turned around, ran back 9 ft. and pushed that guy away from the ball, the one that was nine feet behind him looking towards the ball. hmmm

If you would like a physics lesson, PM me and I will help you out. Until then, I am done with this conversation as I just checked, and I have lost 3 IQ points discussing this with you.

Proven AND Cheap does NOT =

Look at what $M any competent vet signed for versus a DRAFtED rookie, you are forgetting the old axiom....

It's better to remain silent and let some think you are stupid than open your mouth and prove it to everyone

Your position is they used a 2nd round pick for a guy who they project solely as a backup. I disagree.

Cosell doesn't know what the hell he's talking about. That's not unfamiliar territory for him.

He caughrt the ball between two defenders who overran the play.

You seem to think being a QB is about throwing lasers 70 yards. It's about putting the ball where your receiver can catch it and the other, or other 2, can't.
Brady definitely threw that pass a too short. If he had lead Edelman with that pass then it might very well have been a touchdown. Because Edelman was wide open but had to slow down to catch it. If we are talking about his 44 yard catch that is.

The nearest defender was about 2 yards behind him, and falling behind more, before Edelman had to start to slow down to get under the ball. Putting the ball where he put it, instead of further ahead, increased the chance of a pick.

On the TV tape it looks like the DB is gaining on Edelman, because he slows down. But on the all 22 you can see that it's Edelman that is speeding away from the DB before he starts to slow down. What you, and Andy, are posting lines up with the very limited tv tape. But not at all with the all 22(reality)

Still a good completion tough. Brady was fast at seeing that Edelman would have the corner deep. But he could definitely have put the ball much better to let Edelman run with it.

Brady will, and has been fine, when the OL stops leaking like a sieve.

Umm, the DB was faster than the receiver. If he outthrew the DB it would have been overthrown. Edelman barely slowed. Great throw by Brady.

And not to mention the rush that was all around him. He had no room to step into that throw. I am amazed that got that throw off.

Sounds like a big loss.

It was an underthrow. That is the problem with debating this. If someone can't acknowledge this obvious truth, I don't know how anything they say is in any way credible.

You claimed it was due to lack of arm strength but Brady has also overthrow deep passes recently, is that due to excessive arm strength?

It was a very good throw by Brady, a perfect throw would have hit him completely in stride but perfect long balls are extremely rare, even for Aaron Rodgers.

Also, the receiver is a huge part of what makes the throw successful, in addition to an O-line that can block long enough for the play to develop.

Ummm... Brady's arm is literally as strong as it's ever been.

I have no clue what Cosell is talking about.

Not just me and Cosell.

At 37? That's rare.

Well, Brady's the best QB of all time, so he has done/can do many things that are rare for the position.

I'm just going off what my eyes are telling me. He throws the ball with as much or more velocity now as he did 10 years ago.

Same (or better) at 37 as he was at 27????? Superhuman.

And I'm the one who doesn't know what he's talking about.

When exactly has Tyms "proven" anything? On multiple practice squads? During his 2 NFL career catches?
But who has "Proven" anything. Give the guy a chance. At this point, it may be worth the risk. He seems as good, if not better than the rest. It's either settle with what we have or keep looking. I prefer the later. Nobodys lighting up the world, besides Edledude

If we are waiting for Tyms to be our savior we are going to have a long wait.

Also, I think they could win with this group of WRs without question. The problems seem to be in the trenches and if you cant win there it does not matter who is throwing the ball and who is catching it.
Not to be confrontational, but I remember not long ago, hearing the same thing about Edelman. Many did not give him a chance. Without him now, we're screwed. That's just how it works with the Pats. They bottom feed till they find a "Player". Let it continue. What do we have to lose, at this point?

Talk to me in November when the offensive line has time to jell, Gronk is gronk, Dobson is healthy and Lafell has some experience in a new system.

Would be great but history says quite opposite when it comes to injuries

Three points;

1) Brady is past his prime.
2) Brady has never been good on long passes.
3) iapatsfan is no troll.

Because he's 37 feckin years old, has Absolute Zero remaining mobility (such as it was), and both
the eyeballs & every single possible metric says so.
