Every 20 seconds someone is tweeting with the #FireGoodell hashtag. I fully support this movement. I thought Goodell should have been fired right after the Replacement Ref debacle. #FireGoodell is getting more attention now because of the Ray Rice thing, but it's long overdue IMO.

I used to love these hard-hitting rivalry games between the Ravens and Steelers. As a football fan, tonights game has not been enjoyable. It's been downright boring and irritating to watch. I give up on watching tonights game and I'm not a Steelers fan or Ravens fan.

Maybe if fans make enough noise it will pick up even more steam. Do you support the cause to #FireGoodell ???

send this post to N.O.W., Gloria Allred and Diane Feinstein...he'll be starring in "Missing In Action V:Road To Hell" by the end of next week.

It will register but what will really hit the mark is corporations pulling sponsorship, if that starts rolling then Goodell will actually be toast. The owners can handle fans being upset, but once sponsorship starts jumping ship they will step in and send him gently into that dark night.

I know I'm not the only one hoping that happens.

and THAT impetus will have to come from the wives of the big time CEO's or the female CEO's who pay the NFL for spots.Denise Morrison of Campbell Foods comes to mind immediately....pull those cutesie soups spots that have been identified with the NFL for 30 years and see what happens.

How credible is all this new Info that seems to be coming out every couple minutes.

twitter doesn't have to be credible...it just has to "trend"...THAT is the point...trend enough and it's flash mob time at NFL offices in Manhattan

The vast majority of the above complaints are not about the Ray Rice bungling but other things like penalties for unnecessary roughness.

Anyone who thinks those rules are going to change back to the way they were if the NFL hires a new commissioner is a complete moron.

Sorry, folks, but the coming decade will do nothing but continue to strengthen rules that protect the players, not the opposite. That will be true no matter who is commissioner.

he shoots!!...he misses...AGAIN!

how you aim you arrows at these gigantic strawmen and miss from 2 feet away is almost mystical. It's not about Ray Rice or his situation, it's not about the new rules or anything else ...it's about the 5 ton redfaced elephantdell in the room. HE has propped himself up as the new Sheriff of Nuttingham and now he's about to feel the wrath of millions upon millions of extremely angry Maid Marians.

Fans have hated Goodell for years now. They're using this opportunity to jump on Goodell, and I don't blame them

Oh, I agree absolutely. The usual group of Goodell haters are using this incident as an excuse to cry for something they've been wanting for years. They don't care about Ray Rice, Janay Rice or the Ravens, it is little more than them seeing an opportunity to pounce.

There's a part of me that hopes Goodell does step down or get fired because when the next commissioner has the same problems and nothing in the league is better, I got about a couple thousand "I told you so's" I'll be dishing out.

I seriously doubt that Roger Goodell will be fired.

It takes 3/4s of the owners' votes (24 of 32) to make such a thing possible. There's no way that 24 owners want to fire him.

It's not about want.

It's not about want.

Fair point, it will likely be about "need." That said, I think there would have to be some fairly damning evidence that they'd have to find. Deep down, I think the owners are pretty happy with the amount of money that they've been making lately, which may equate to them giving Goodell the benefit of the doubt.

I have a very difficult time envisioning 75% of the owners all agreeing on a need to fire him. Then again, something may come out that forces their hand. We'll have to see. All of the "fire Goodell" talk at the moment is irrelevant to me until they find some really damning evidence though.

I've also noticed that about 4/5 of every twitter comment with the hashtag of #firegoodell is related to the fact that they are complaining about the flags due to illegal hits.

That's not going to change if another commish comes in, is it?

Nothing in the league is better? But YOU have been blasting this board for YEARS about how much BETTER everything is and what a great leader Goodell is...that's hypocrisy at its' most blatant.

You expect the next commissioner to flummox the Saints case like your host,Goody did and then call in Goody for help like he HAD TO reach out to Tags? Are you stoned?

The usual group of Goodell haters? N.O.W, Feinstein and other US female senators, Gloria Allred are the "usual group"? are you a BLIND MAN?

What does caring or not caring about the Rice decision have to do with a totalitarian leader who demands transparency and truth from everyone in the NFL yet is caught himself in an ever burgeoning web of deceit and outright lies...any answer or are you going to run out and get ANOTHER 10 tons of straw to make more men.You ARE the Baghdad Bob of Patsfans.

SpyGate - debacle
BountyGate - debacle
Replacement Referees - debacle
Ray Rice/Janay Palmer - debacle

Roger Goodell's tenure as commissioner of the NFL has been a complete disgrace.
