I'm interesting in hearing whom people list, because it seems to me that certain posters here only think certain types of WRs can "fit" in our system. The type they imply seems to be short, slow, and smart.

So enlighten me with one big fast, strong WR in the NFL whom you think would look awesome in this patriots offense?

Julio Jones and Alshon Jeffery. Jones is the most complete WR in the NFL, being able to line up from any place on the field, physical, and a great blocker. Jeffery is the most aggressive WR in the NFL at going after the ball.

Aaron Dobson... I see the future.. .;)

You think Jones is more complete than Johnson?

Yes. Jones is much more physical going over the middle, and a much better blocker.

AJ Green, Julio Jones, Calvin Johnson, Josh Gordon, Larry Fitzgerald, Andre Johnson.

Interesting I'll have to watch more of him. Thanks for the response Mayo.

Interesting no one has mention Demaryius Thomas yet, whom the Patriots passed over in 2010.

I guess I don't scout receivers as much as I should, but any WR with good football intelligence that is capable to read defenses presnap and run good precise routes have a better than decent shot. Any WR with mediocre or worse football intelligence and poor route running will suck in New England even of he was 7 foot 2 and ran a 40 in 3.6 seconds (although it would be amazing to watch such a receiver).

Patterson. I watched what he did down here in one year at UT.

AJ Green, Julio Jones,

Randy Moss :)

Well, there's a ton. For starters, megatron, aj green, Julio jones, Alshon Jeffery, bmarsh, Jordy Nelson, Vincent Jackson, kelvin Benjamin, Sammy Watkins, josh Gordon, Andre Johnson, justin hunter, Kendall wright, Eric decker, Demaryius Thomas, Keenan Allen, anquan boldin, Michael Floyd, Larry Fitzgerald, cordarelle Patterson, Marques Colston, Mike Evans, dez Bryant... That's just a first pass, I'm sure there's more. Granted, most of these guys are cost-prohibitive, but any of them would instantly make this offense significantly better.

Jimmy Graham. :D

I see what you did there, and agree. :D

Just being big and/or (preferably and) fast does not a Patriots WR make.

None...apparently the pats offense is the nfl equivalent of quantum physics and even if the receiver could learn the offense he'd run the wrong route once and brady'd never look his way again....
Good call from Norwood....

The names that jump in my mind right away are Fitzgerald, Calvin Johnson, AJ Green and Andre Johnson. I feel like those 4 guys have a combination of the physical attributes, football intelligence, and professionalism that would make them really ideal fits here. But there are probably a few other options too.

Any one of those guys would be a good WR on the Patriots. Maybe (probably) not worth the money, but they would all be very effective. It's not like the Pats are the only team in the league with a complicated offense, and if Belichick had any of those guys on the roster, he would dumb down their assignments if he absolutely had to. They're all too talented to go unused.

Then why didn't they do that in 2006, when they had arguably an even worse WR corps than last year?
