I spend over 90% of my time with users outside of the NE area, and from what everything I hear from them during downtime - in their opinion spygate was pushed under the carpet because Goodell and Kraft are buddies. That is the reason why Goodell destroyed the tapes that supposedly proved the crime. This Rice issue only brings it to light again... unfortunately.
So, yes. This Ray Rice scandal will put spygate back on the map... again... and already has as proven by the above comment.

As if Spygate had ever truly gone away. . . .
Good. I hope it does put it back on the map. How many of us have wanted a `do over` with defending our Dynasty on the national stage?
Bring it on.
I want a 2007 repeat, but in the opposite way. Like week 1 was the 07 Super Bowl where Tom got smashed up, and this years Super Bowl will be when the team is at its best posting a win like 52-7. Oh the wishGood. I hope it does put it back on the map. How many of us have wanted a `do over` with defending our Dynasty on the national stage?

Have you started his resignation statement?so, ESPN just now ran a report that Rice spit on his fiance before he got into the elevator, then spit on her again inside the elevator..and then he told security ,after he savagely and brutally knocked her out, that "I'm gettin' arrested tonight!" in a bragging boastful manner.
BTW, the tape sent to NFL headquarters is much clearer than the TMZ copy sent to them by cell phone.

NFL announces its latest independent investigation, this one into its handling of the Rice case, led by former FBI chief Robert Mueller III

Sorry, not true. In something like 74 of the most recent 85 cases, a player arrested for domestic violence go no punishment. I believe something like only 2 of them served more than 2 games. Why would Godell only give Rice 2 games when he saw what occurred in the elevator?
Most times he has given a stronger sentence and then reduced it later.

The simple, undeniable FACT is that the suspension originally given to Rice was very much in line with suspensions given in similar circumstances in the past, and there was absolutely zero media/fan outrage in those cases. If anything, Rice's punishment was a bit on the harsh side compared to the historical precedent. But since, unlike all those other circumstance, the public saw video of the event, people are reacting differently.
Here's another question that needs to be answered. TMZ reached out to the NFL before releasing the tape. The NFL didn't respond.
If they were so interested in seeing the tape, why would they not respond to TMZ unless they knew what was on it? If they were really interested in it but failed to obtain it, why did they not at least return the phone call?
They only became interested when it was, in fact, released and public reaction began.
My only question is how they contacted the NFL. Did they contact them multiple times over several hours? Or once ten minutes before publishing?
I think some poor underling is going to be forced to take the fall for this. Goodell needs to take the hit. I don't think the league wanted to see the video because they didn't want to be forced to give Rice a big suspension when domestic violence has historically been a slap on the wrist in the NFL.
As for the Spygate stuff, I think it doesn't really matter. I think there are people who thought things were covered up to begin with. I still go back to that if Belichick did other types of forms of cheating, why would have given it to Goodell anyway? Why not just destroy it so Goodell never knows. If there was a cover up, Belichick gave examples of other teams cheating to help his case.
