Robert Kraft defends Roger Goodell: "The way he has handled this situation is excellent"

Let me address this to the Goodell apologist and general troll. I remember the weekend in November 1963 when this took place. There were two leagues at that time and the AFL cancelled the games and the NFL didn't. Was it a PR mistake, yes was it on the level of this latest fiasco no.
********. We remember what Rozelle did 50 years later. In 2064, no one is going to care about or remember the Ray Rice fiasco.

So for me, here's the deal…if Spygate yet AGAIN takes over in the public narrative for whatever reason, I am done with the NFL. I'm so beyond tired of it.

@RapSheet
.@NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell announces ex-FBI director Robert Mueller III will conduct an independent investigation into Rice situation

I wonder what's the best way for the fans and advertisers to communicate that nothing short of Goodell's resignation will be enough?

More investigations. I bet it clears everything up!
What do you propose Goodell does? The NFL has said they didn't see the tape, unnamed sources are claiming they did. Outside of an independent investigation, there's nothing else to be done.

I have my reservations regarding this case (one bitten twice shy etc.) but Goodell shouldn't resign simply because the masses are outraged. If the investigator finds against him, then he should have the book thrown at him. Until that time, I won't be calling for his head.

Stop going to games. Stop watching them on TV. Don't use the app, don't play fantasy football, don't come to forums just like this one.

Of course, the NFL is well aware that the people crying the loudest will do no such thing.

Better be careful. That amount of level headed thinking can get an awful lot of hatred and venom spewed at you in these parts.

There is also the matter of the recording of the NFL employee receiving the tape.

No it won't. Aus is very much respected here ,as anyone will attest. ...and you have an extremely hard time distinguishing "hatred and venom" with "disgust and disdain".

I am very interested in the outcome of the independent investigation looking into that matter.

Right now, everything is alleged. Color me pink but I'm old fashioned in the sense that I find it difficult to believe something unless it's confirmed by multiple, respected sources or I have seen it with my own two eyes.

The fact is, I'm not a Goodell supporter in the slightest I simply refuse to allow possibilities to cloud my judgement without them being known and verified facts. I have already mentioned that if these allegations are proven to be true, heads must roll.

You've got a significantly higher opinion of my Patsfan persona than I do @Joker. ;)

What do I propose he does? Resign. Public outrage is the one thing that could hurt the precious brand.

Whew. That was an easy one.

In my opinion, If Goodell stays or goes, people will consume the NFL like there is no tomorrow. You may have merit or you may not. The NFL is what it is.

Well, all things being equal, I'd prefer he go. It's been one mistake after another under the Goodell regime.

Why Kraft is so in love with him, I'll never know.

Until its finding contradicts your opinion.

Why are the owner$ $o in love with the Commi$$ioner? Hm, that'$ a good que$tion.

Absolutely not. I have no problem is changing my opinion if new facts come out. I always reserve the right to change my mind if I base an opinion on a factual belief which is later proven untrue.

Unfortunately, in the coming days there will be a lot of uninformed conjecture as to the reason - - much of that coming from Florio of PFT and The Boston Globe....

I was criticized earlier for telling people to batten down the hatches because there is another $hitstorm of opportunistic misinformation coming. Louses like Tomase may even try to make another pass at it. No amount of whistling past the graveyard is going to change that.

And I think that is totally fair and entirely you prerogative.

Personally, it is the fact that the NFL initially blamed Janal and sold those lies to the public that makes me want him ousted. That they may have seen the tape is simply more damning. If they didn't see the tape, they still publicly blamed her based on poor investigation work. If they aren't in the business of investigation, why are they in the business of assigning blame? To me, the victim blaming is enough that he should resign.
