***Ray Rice---The Whole Video*** [Update: Ravens release Rice]

I wouldn't be surprised if the "NFL Executive" that talked to the police was Dean Blandino and he headed off the video.. Just something my gut is telling me..

Get away with what? Believe it or not, the Ray Rice suspension is very much in line with what the league has done over the past few years in other similar cases- but since there was no video in those incidents, there was no public outrage.

3 years ago, Erik Walden was arrested for domestic violence. He was suspended for 1 game. There was no public outrage.

2 years ago, Dez Bryant was arrested for domestic violence. Like Rice, charges were dropped on the condition he went to counseling. He was not suspended. There was no public outrage.

Last November, A.J. Jefferson was arrested on a count of domestic violence attempting to strangle his girlfriend. He got suspended 4 games but the suspension was lifted. There was no public outrage.

Ray McDonald played this past weekend. There was no public outrage.

Greg Hardy played this past weekend. There was no public outrage.

But mention Ray Rice and the public loses their minds.

You seem to be behind the times. The league has already stated that they will rule on McDonald and Hardy after the legal issues are handled. They don't want to interfere. Which is as it should be. Should they REALLY penalize a player if that player didn't do anything?

An unnamed source said .....come on folks

When the source is named and tells the American people then I'll believe it, maybe.

By the way according to law the nfl really didn't have rights to any of the videos.

It is such a joke, why isn't the DA taking heat? This isn't about the NFL, it is about the law enforcement community protecting a star...geeez

I'm so tierd of the masses being so stupid to follow the information of people that can't provide a source...please ugh

They have a timestamped tape that shows a NFL offices phone number back in April with the woman saying they had gotten the tape. It's hard to get more conclusive than that unless you think the KGB got involved.

Roger will blame TMZ for altering the time stamp on the tape.

one of my biggest takeaways from this situation (macro issue) is the fact that you can never trust what is said by people in power. This is old news by all accounts, but it's still scary to see people with so much power spewing pure garbage and lies in front of national media. The expected intelligence of the audience to which these comments are directed at is what is particularly disturbing.

So, the NFL is now going to investigate and try to determine if some underling received the tape, viewed it and didn't pass it up the chain of command. Huh??? If they were serious about such an investigation, they'd contract that task out to an independent investigator chosen by an independent third party. Fat chance...

These are billionaires and they believe they are above the law for the most part and they are. We buy their line of ******** and even when the evidence builds, you have people saying "it couldn't be".... there are always suckers who don't realize that the system is set up to dole out just enough justice to keep the masses from overthrowing the system....

I'm no earthy crunchy and I do well as a professional for a large corporation but I know how the system is stacked and I know how these "good ole boy" networks operate. My father-in-law is a born and bred (American)blue blood (many millions not billions). Nice guy but his world is shocking in its privilege. His circles are a who's who of influential people. Money makes money and don't ever forget it.

It isn't even that they sit back and twist their mustaches while they hatch master plans. They just use their influence to get what they want and know that giving a few crumbs to the masses keeps people thinking they're doing well. They don't publicly fight their battles. They give enough to people to let those who receive the rewards fight their battles and cry class warfare. Those are their biggest allies and the few pittance they receive, convince them that everyone else is just lazy or jealous. I've been privy to conversations where they believe the little they give back is an act of charity while they make obscene amounts of money bouncing from one board of directors to another for different companies every few years. Is he smart? You bet. Brilliant. Does he receive many rewards long after he stopped doing useful work...you bet. I could tell you stories about what they do to entertain themselves that you wouldn't believe

This is so f'n stupid. Somebody punched somebody else off the field and it's getting O.J. Simpson type coverage. By the way, let me know when the NFL removes O.J. from the HOF. On his way to his double homicide, he beat Nicole plenty of times. Let me know when Warren Moon gets removed from the HOF. Let me know when Jim Brown gets removed from the HOF.

Also, more importantly, if you take Janay out and put a small, scrawny man in her place, Rice gets a couple games and is done with it. If a man gets hit, no matter how small and weak he is, it's yawn-city for everyone, because men are not innocent angelic deities to be worshiped and carried across the threshold like the Almighty Woman. Motivating everyone's outrage is the subconscious belief that women are better than men.

Excellent post, you are dead on. We live in a society that moves from one privileged class to the next. I feel sorry for janay and Ray, they have lost their income and currently their ability to work in their chosen field. Tough price to pay to be made the scapegoat of the nfl. Seems like the nfl is the real problem here. Hopefully, Janay and Ray can get some resolution out of this and put themselves in a better place, well relationship wise. It should be as simply as cutting ray's balls off if he does it again. Screw restraining orders, cut off his nuggets. That will get his attention.

The scapegoat angle is dead on. All that matters in our society is appearances, not the reality of the situation. As long as things appear to be moving in the right direction (I.e. ray rice being suspended/cut), it doesn't matter what's really going on. Sad but true...

of course... the only thing pending is whether Goodell is next scapegoat that needs to be jettisoned to appease the masses since the first one didn't satisfy anyone... the owners won't be touched by this and I'll bet that once Goodell steps down, things will calm down... the owners will make their big sacrifice to the people and everyone will praise them for their action ;)

Feeding the masses enough justice to keep the system going... cynical but true. Most don't want to believe that but that's what happens. I don't even think the owners see it that way but that's the way it's done.

I generally agree but don't want to open a rather large can of worms by expounding on that sentiment.

That double standard tho.

You realize this comes from someone who also committed domestic violence and never got punished for it?

I agree with the words in bold.

I was aware of this, but that was not what I was referring to as excellent - the comedic value of the tweet was what I found entertaining
