I am sure they have Dante's phone # on speed dial. So simply dial, and ask if Coach is interested in a lucrative part-time "consulting" position. No interview is required, and the need for your services is immediate.

He has very probably been consulted.

I guarantee you he was yelling and hitting his TV set this past Sunday.

OH, that's what the lumps on Gugg's head are from ...

I've said this in a couple threads...

If I were Kraft, I would've wired $1-2 mill to Scar's bank account immediately after the Dolphins game

Bringing Scarnecchia back into the fold isn't going to improve the lack of talent and perceived performance of Wendell, Devey and Kline not to mention the fact that it won't improve Josh McDaniels' inability to grasp the current mood of a game and adjust his playcalling.

Yeah ... Bring back Scarnecchia, Weis, Crennel, etc., etc. Everything will be just like old times.

My last O-lines weren't too great, and all since 07 have folded in the big games. What makes you think hiring me back will make a difference?

Love,
Dante

Yeah Scar would never use a wimp like Wendell at center...oh wait.

With all due respect, a lot of the issues this past Sunday had to do with one one one battles being lost and that is largely an issue of technique so it's not remiss to ask questions of the new OL coach or to wonder if Scar is at least being consulted, part-time.

he might like living in an old folks home somewhere in FLA!

Doubt he is consulted part-time. When you retire, you retire. If they try and pry him out of retirement, that's pretty bad. Googs has had a bad first game but my assumption is that the system was passed on. It's not like Dante spent decades with the team and left no theory or approach to coaching.

There should be an unbelievable amount of material related to coaching the O-line left in the Pats office.

Time to move on. He had never been great.

Seems that wasn't the case as recently as a few months ago...
Scarnecchia, who retired as the team’s offensive line coach in January, actually played a key role as the Patriots prepared for this month’s draft, dishing out scouting reports on two of the three linemen they selected.
Dante Scarnecchia played role in Pats' offensive line draft picks.

Nonetheless, I agree that Dante ain't coming back full-time, so it's best now to circle the wagons around DeGuglielmo -- not try to deliberately undermine his authority and risk shaking the guy's confidence.

Hmmm . . . I've got pretty good odds on which one he DIDN'T scout. . . .

One game, all hope is lost, the sky has fallen, invoke the mercy rule.

BB has a huge network of football folks, pretty confident he has Dante's phone #.. when it is written would not be surprised if Dante was consulted when Mankins was traded...
