Media Report (unverified): The NFL had the Rice Elevator Tape in April

Anything that gets Goodell fired is a good start, in my book. The fact that it's because he was such an dumbass on a subject he could have avoided almost completely just makes imagining the possibility that much more sweet.

You're going to get your wish.

He won't be fired, though. He'll just "voluntarily resign."

As I mentioned before, and with all due respect and apologies to Bellachick who disliked my post in the other thread, someone or some group wants him out and Rice was the convenient pawn.

Everything that has been heretofore "released," has been impeccably timed.

Playing out just a little too well to be anything else.

Re: Spygate...

One can make the argument that basically the NFL makes up its mind and then releases the evidence or not to fit their narrative.

For all we know, the tapes destroyed would only show that he had less of a rationale than stated for the harsh penalty.

Goddell is a survivor and he'll worm his way through it. Someone else will take the fall. Not him. Not when powerful/influencial owners like Kraft have gone on record supporting him over the last 24 hours. I hope I'm wrong!!!!
And as to Condi Rice, no way. The NFL is the ultimate old boys network. She wouldn't get a sniff of that job.

Wow NFLN just completely reported the article and them went straight to football. That rug they are trying to sweep this under is getting pretty high

I think now would be a very good time for Bob Kraft to go on a vacation to a place where there is no telecommunication.

"We are held accountable for our actions as players, the commissioner should be held accountable for his actions.” — Drew Brees on Goodell

I can't blame the players for feeling a little vindictive, they have been continuously ravaged by the commissioner in terms of fines and suspensions - some truly ridiculous: http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap10...gore-fined-10500-by-nfl-for-wearing-low-socks

The NFL pretty much expects its players to be perfect; perfect hits, perfect uniforms, perfect celebrations, perfect off field conduct and perfect decisions in general. So naturally you have to expect the commissioner of these expectations to follow suit, which looks in this instance far from the case! I hope the players are angry to be honest, and that's a fairly accurate tweet from James Harrison.

Roger Goodell has led nothing short of a campaign of obfuscation in the case of Ray Rice versus Janay Palmer.
