A law enforcement official says he sent a video of Ray Rice punching his then-fiancee to an NFL executive three months ago
The person played The Associated Press a 12-second voicemail from an NFL office number on April 9 confirming the video arrived. A female voice expresses thanks and says: "You're right. It's terrible."
That proves it.Just when you think Goodell & Co couldn't have bungled this any more:

Not much will happen. They will fire some lowly person at the nfl office. make an apology and be done with it. The owners want him, the rest dont matter.
He makes 44 million an yr. 44 million reasons to not step down.Part of me agrees with your point here....and if it happens, and we continue to support this league (through ticket sales, merchandise sales, consessions, tax payer funded stadiums etc etc etc) then we are the suckers...
Kraft and Mara sound outta touch in their earlier statements with this newest news from the AP.
If Rodgahhhhhh really cares about the integrity of the shield he should stop down. The buck stops with him.

US Senator Dean Heller, a Nevada Republican on a Senate Commerce subcommittee with jurisdiction over the NFL, was critical of Goodell in an open letter.
Heller asked Goodell for details about his actions in deciding punishments for Rice, NFL personnel knowledge about the elevator video and what plans Goodell has to "address the harm your league has inflicted on survivors of domestic violence going forward".
"Commissioner Goodell must understand the scope and severity of domestic abuse acts," Heller wrote. "Judging from his actions, it's time for the NFL to step its game up on this important matter."
"I fear the failure of the NFL to understand the scope and severity of this act of domestic violence has already led to significant damage for vulnerable members of society."
Fired for cause:I hope he gets canned. I hope the NFL and the owners get condemned as well. But you might be right.
Congress should nail Goodell to the cross."The NFL replied swiftly Thursday, saying in a statement: "We have no knowledge of this. We are not aware of anyone who possessed or saw the video before it was made public on Monday. We will look into it."
this is the nfl response. That all.
That proves it.
Either Goodell is a liar or a blatantly incompetent idiot.
Either way, Goodell should be fired.
