Norah O'Donnell will interview the fatuous blowhard (er, .., I mean the Commissioner) tonight.

Puff piece or hard hitting journalism? Tough for a "broadcast partner" to take on the league and not expect punitive TV contract terms down the line.

Must viewing for those who like beating their head against a wall.

Figures he would go this route vs. calling a press conference. Apparently the league office has decided on a strategy of soft-peddling the issue and hoping it'll fade away.

CBS=AFC Network....Baltimore-AFC Team. That Goodell....he thinks of everything.....except watching the punchout.

This has no doubt been orchestrated to a fare-thee-well by high-priced PR consultants. No disrespect to Norah O'Donnell, but there's no a way newsman gets to conduct this interview. Goodell will expound and pontificate at great length about his long term deep and abiding concerns about domestic abuse and women's issues in general.

Just kill me now.

And as a woman interviewer, she will have to appear fair and balanced, or be accused of being "a *****y feminist." Clearly a trap arrangement.

Every time there's a rape case around here, the defendant always seems to end up with a woman lawyer--'you see i got women on my side, smart ones who believe me.'

well...that certainly was a Rog'em Dodg'em spectacular...nice glowing red face though...BP must be 200.

why did she not at least TRY to ask Liardell about quotes given by Michael Diamondstein on MAY 24th?

"Let's assume for the sake of argument, rather than enter into the pretrial diversionary program that [Rice] entered into, we hypothetically move forward on the case. And hypothetically we litigate 100 motions and the video comes out and the video shows — hypothetically speaking now, hypothetically speaking — shows that Ray wasn't the first person that hit and Ray was getting repeatedly hit but just Ray hit harder, fired one back and hit harder. Hypothetically speaking, and he gets found not guilty. Is that result somehow better? Is it better for the public? Is it better for the Ravens? Is it better for Ray? Is it better for Janay?"

"
Here was a guy who had seen the tape, who knew exactly what Rice did to Palmer that night, and who still thought nothing of laying out this red herring of a hypothetical, with all sorts of winks and nudges. Why? What possible reason would he have for doing this other than to deliberately mislead the public and smear Janay Palmer by positioning her as the aggressor? He had to have known how people would interpret his comments, as he was the only person with direct knowledge of the tape willing to toss us a few bits of (ultimately bad) information."

Don't Forget: Ray Rice's Attorney Is A Piece Of ****

This piece of cotton candy "journalism" we just witnessed is obviously the work of the NFL spinmeisters...he dodged the direct question she asked a few seconds in with corp-speak blather-babble. Obviously, this "appearance" was aimed directly at the CASUAL NFL fan and the entire female demographic that are fans of the NFL. One can pray and hope against all hope that this will"die down" and "eventually go away, like everything does!!"...hey, maybe it works. I mean it's a total joke to ANY of the millions of hard core NFL fans that know this person will lie at the drop of a hat when confronted with NFL errors. I guess Goody just thinks women are stupid or easily led and his valium like "interview" will assuage the entire feminine demographic. How this moron cannot see the Gloria Alred's already mobbing the knife sharpening outlets nationwide is a real puzzler.

I couldn't bear to watch. I would hope that CBS had the decency to disclose their very important business relationship with the NFL. This is a journalistic conflict of interest and if they could be seen as going easy on Blockhead, it would be fair to call their objectivity into question.

In true Wilson tradition I say to Roger, "You Lie!"

Sure, take an interview with one of your most prominent business partners. They won't be lobbing you softballs at all, and that's in no way a conflict of interest.

and I saw Noooothing

One thing to note from this appearance is that now Goodell is officially and irrevocably on record as denying that ANYONE with the NFL saw this tape. So now we get to see if any of the reporters have enough balls to call them on it, or if anyone in the the employee of the league is fed up enough to go Deepthroat on them.

The other thing that was interesting was the 'we assumed there was a tape, we asked but the meanies wouldn't give it to us'. Christ, the ****ing NFL could probably get a prisoner out of China and with all their extensive law enforcement experience and contacts, they could get this tape? Sorry, ain't gonna fly.

I hope Roger goes down in flames. Every hit to his reputation and his arbitrarily decided penalties is a blow to Crygate.

Well didn't the NJSP or the DA's make a comment that NFL would have no right to the video?

Also, domestic violence is bad too.
